I sewed 9 patches while I watched TV last night. I laid all 4 of the orange ones out separately so you can see the variety that a mottled fabric creates.
My largest Columbine which is pink is getting big. I'll have to check and see if the Columbines in the front have come up yet. We're in for some cold nights so I'll wait to rake the leaves.
I'm seeing more of the Lungwort/Pulmonaria now. I think the Brunnera is growing too. It is another early bloomer with tiny blue flowers.

It will be a cold week…there’s even an igloo on the forecast :(. Some early blooming trees have flowered, unfortunately. Seeing your flannel quilt on your longarm really gives perspective on how large it is. It’s frustrating having things go wrong with the longarm as it’s just so awkward to unstitch and start/stop.
Yep, it's still March! You may put that flannel quilt to use right away.
It's still pretty cold here --especially at night; so, no plants except some daffodil green stems starting to poke up...
41 here and gray once again--seems all our Mondays have been gray lately!!
Tom off to get our CRV an oil change that's due and I am still cutting away...
moved onto scrappy bag cut offs now...and still culling items for donation.
Maybe i can finish up by the end of March...hopefully!!

love the flannel quilts - I've got three of them and realized although I swap them out during the winter so they all get used I missed one and it is still in it's bad to keep dust from it.
I'm sort of glad it's cooling off, the plants have been growing way too fast already! It will be a bummer that flowering parts get froze/frosted off though. Hopefully the plants will be ok and not get killed off though. I must say seeing a few random snowflakes in the air a bit ago did make me cringe.
Quilting woes?? Feel free to bore us! As one who is new-ish to machine quilting with a long-arm machine, I'm always ready for lessons on how to fix when things go wrong. It seems books and on-line lessons *usually* show only things going well.
Wonderful Monday morning post Wanda. Straight line quilting perfect for this quilt ~ more light and bright 9 patches to bring in some sunshine into that quilt ~ another hardy blossoming plant and your columbine is way, way ahead of mine. They’re one of my favorite garden plants.

Sorry to read you had problems quilting the flannel quilt. The quilting looks wonderful. The snow is coming down here. Not much accumulation but it seems like it is more than we have had all winter and tomorrow is the first day of spring! I agree it’s too early to start cleaning the flower beds; the plants need the insulation from the cold!
Hmm, all the plants here are under snow. Mottled fabrics are a lot of fun because you never know.
