I cut more gold/yellow/orange triangles and placed some on the design wall. Then I decided to sew the corner row together.
Three more rows were sewn together as I tried to decide what color the edge triangles will be. And, what size the triangles should be. I could put 2 half square triangles which would be easy to figure out but I would rather add one quarter square triangle.
We finally got up to 0 yesterday afternoon and it stayed at 0 all the way to 11 p.m. I didn't check again after that. It was -9 when I got up and -5 when I left for a pacemaker check at our local clinic. I was worried the parking lot might be slippery but it was all cleaned off and dry. I have an estimated 15 months left on the battery life in my pacemaker.
I had to get one photo of Jack Frost's work before it melts. We are going to be all the way up to 40 degrees next week, from -15 to 40, quite a swing in temperatures. First though we have a chance of more snow twice this week.

We got up to 16 degrees this morning with frozen, rutted slush everywhere. In our dingle area adjacent to the house, many limbs came down--especially any older "leaners"--but no damage to house or property...
Crazy weather for sure...
Meanwhile we still have bluebirds fluttering around our cedar trees!! I had no idea they would stay in the wintry weather...

Glad you were able to make it to your appointment ok. Guess you will need to have a procedure done in about a year to replace the battery? The quilt is doing great -and how you show it on the wall shows some that you would have a bunch of Y seams that it goes together much easier than they might think it would.
I like how the Golden yellow glow centers make this piece look warm and cozy.

Good to hear you had a good check on your pace maker. And it amazes me that they can predict how much time you have left before you need a change. This surely is so wonderful how they can treat heart issues in today’s world.

I enjoy you and your journey so much. You know how to make it real,, that's for sure. In a way, your enthusiasm has spurred me on, and I sent away for some fabrics to get a project going again......this after giving away most of 25 years worth of stash..... now rueing some of those decision, but there's always more fabric. So, buy I did, and it arrived yesterday.......Kaffe, greens mostly...some lucious spots for lashings. I'm kind of fired up!

And the snow in Illinois! I was in suburban Chicago in 1967 when the "Big Snow" of 27" in less than 24 hours happened on Jan 22-23. Behind our house, 2" of grass showed but the clothes line was just 2" above the drifted snow. It was wonderful as a teen!
It will be 34*F here today but last night's low was 12*F. Brrr!

When you first showed this quilt, I was trying to figure out how you would sew it together, thinking there would be partial seams. I wondered why you were adding quarter square triangles in the centers, thinking that was a lot of work. I finally figured out that it could be sewn diagonally, in rows! lol...
On another note, my husband had his pacemaker replaced for the third time last month. His paces 100% of the time. He dreaded the cardiac catheterization more than the actual procedure - but - this time they didn't do the cath! He was happy about that.
I remember frigid temps like a wind chill of 70 below and being outside in it from living in St. Louis. Stay warm!
It is interesting to watch the quilt go together. I know Buffalo weather made headlines this week, but I live a block north of the city line and have received maybe 8" of snow. The Lake Effect snow bands off Lake Erie have dumped huge amounts to the south of me. They closed everything around, but not everyone has the deep snow. Sort of hate being stuck inside with everything closed.
No other color would have worked for those centers!
