Driving myself crazy looking for them

This is what I was looking for. Remember last year I scanned real leaves, printed them on fabric and put fusible web on the back of them? I looked where I thought they should be. I looked there again and again. Finally I decided maybe they were in the piles on my cutting table. This is what the cutting table looked like AFTER I had already gone through 2 piles on the end.
Two hours later this is what it looks like, and yes I did find the leaves
for this idea that I had
when I made this piece of strip pieced fabric Thursday night.
The bonus is that I found the folder with all of the little sketches I had made for the last 15 years.
It is cold and rainy this morning. The heat came on because the house was colder than 63 degrees. It's time to get out the sweaters and sweatshirts.

I LOVE that leaf idea, I might steal it - but I'll have to wait 6 months for autumn here!

LOVE those leaaves ! The striped piece is perfect. I think we all can relate to the disarray we make when looking for something we have to find for a project. And you were brave enough to share what it takes to find something. I wouldn't dare... (*._,*)

Sounds like a good day to be inside, playing with those leaves.

Your leaf idea is brilliant!
We've had the heat on now for over a week. It goes down below 50 at night and that gets just too chilly!

Love the colors, sometimes nature is the best inspiration for quilting! Since you love batiks so much you need to check out my latest post slideshow. I think you will appreciate it.

Love your leaf idea. I would like to try that myself. Wow, and what a bonus to find your folder. To me that would be worth all the looking.

Hi Wanda,
Your leaf idea looks great. It's amazing you found an oak leaf with some red color. Most of our oak leaves go from green to brown (if the weather is just right we may see a little red for a day or two).

I'm curious to see how you attach the leaves to the strippy piece (surely not just fusing).

Keep warm.

Wanda, remember that wonderful gauzy red polka dotted fabric that you sent to me? I used it on a Tomato Cage Doll. You can see it on my blog. Thanks again!

That's the best time to find something, when you're not looking for it. That's how it happens with me anyway.

Can't wait to see the leaves on.

Guess I'm not the only one who has things in piles.
Usually I remember which pile it is in and how far down.
I tore the house apart looking for the notes for the class I taught last Monday.
I finally "found" them. THey were in a notebook I took to FL so I had to re do them and refigure things!
Another reason I keep most important things on the laptop which goes back and forth with me.

This is the advantage of looking for things - you may not find the thing you wanted, but often find all kinds of other things you'd forgotten you had! (I recently looked for a jumper I couldn't find and, well, you can guess the rest!)
