Last day of April sewing.............

This isn't the prettiest table topper I have ever made but it will serve a good purpose anyway.  The top was made to demonstrate how to make the block for a class over 10 years ago.  I just used strips that were already cut, not fabrics chosen specifically chosen for a project.  It is almost 21" square.

The back is a pretty fabric so that side might be used more than the pieced side.  I hand stitched the binding last night while watching TV.

I also added a border to a small flannel quilt top so it is an official finished quilt top now too.  I'll have the full photo of it tomorrow.

I'll also work on my monthly recap for tomorrow's post.

The Redbud trees are starting to leaf out so the pink is near its end.  Rain was predicted for very early this morning so that will speed up the petals dropping.

Love the backing you chose for the little strippy piece, Wanda;)))
those redbuds are just gorgeous--the little flannel quilt looks so soft and comfy;)))
55 here and the leaves are really popping out now...
No appointments today--hopefully a restful one...hugs, Julierose

We have a pink flowering tree, not a red bud, and its petals have completely fallen with the rain and extremely high winds we had on Tuesday. We’ll have a yellow magnolia that is still beautiful though. That’s an interesting flannel top, nice to sneak in another finished top for April :)

It’s fascinating what you can create with strips of fabric… I really like the design on your table topper. Looking forward to your monthly recap, to see the piece you added the plaid border to…love plaids as they are always so precise.

Illinois seems to have an impressive redbud population - we just saw one in Champaign that was really huge for that species and there were some in the woods around there that were bigger than any I have seen on the east coast.

the small piece turned out well, another finish. My redbuds seemed to loose their flowers very fast this year.

I quite like the topper. I think I'm drawn to the darker colors. The pastels are pretty too, but i usuallly choose the dark side. Lol

The topper will look great on any table. Our Redbuds are long gone and the trees are almost fully leafed out now. My iris are in full bloom at the moment and the "black" ones are spectacular this year.

I love them all. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the one that reminds you of a game board.

What a joy to see the pink blossoms on your trees, first on April 27 and then again May 1 - haven't commented over the past week or so following a visit one evening to the local A and E clinic!!! I'm only just now reading posts and haven't a hope of reading all back blog posts I'm afraid but I have seen your collection of triangles, there's a quilt I would like to make using triangles but they are quite a good size and I can use my cutter..
