Sewing with triangles...................

Last night's sewing session was finishing up the 2" finished floral triangle squares.  I added 5 more piles of four after I took this photo so I could make 41 pinwheel blocks.

One idea for them would be like this quilt in a Kaffe Fassett book.  I would just have to find a fabric for the alternate squares.

Another idea would be to save them for a border on a floral print quilt.  I always hate having to make a lot of little blocks for a border after I get a center made.  I could do it the opposite way and have the border figured out first and then make a center.  If I sewed all of them end to end I would have a strip 328" long.  Maybe I'll wait until I have the floral star blocks back up on the design wall and see if they would work for that.

Your floral 1/2 sq triangles came out so well--nice pairings in that group...however you choose to use them, they will shine;)))
55 and raining again (or still really) here. We've had a good amount of rain so far00almost 3" --so needed to take the bite out of our drought here...

I'll be curious to see what fabric you will put in your alternate blocks. That's always a challenge for me.

That is a lot of triangles! I do like the Kaffe pinwheel quilt. I am sure you have something in you vast stash that would make a lovely alternating block.

You can't go wrong with pinwheels and a bold print for the alternating squares.

Photo of Kaffe Fassett pinwheels took my breath away. So simple but makes a stunning statement. All of your stitched triangles last night and then to add this idea for them made for a wonderful post today,

Crossing my fingers for the pinwheel quilt :-) I’m working on a sixteen patch quilt with fabrics cut while Patty was visiting. I have enough for an 88 x 64 quilt but I think that’s an awkward size not really a twin but big for throw, don’t you think?
