Yellow/orange and pink/red each have their own tray. When I'm actually ready to use these I'll pull 3 empty trays to use to spread out most of the pieces from one tray in single piles instead of overlapping piles.
It took 2 trays for all of the blues.
The greens filled 2 trays and they are prettier than they look here. I counted the stacks on one tray and there were 82 different fabrics.
There are 2 trays of turquoise/teal or any other name you like to use for blues that lean a little toward green.
I don't have a name for these 2 trays. The tray on the right is mostly red-purple toward burgundy but there are some pieces that I can't categorize.
Here are 2 more trays of miscellaneous. Some are multicolor, some are unlikely to work. There is one more tray I didn't photograph that has black/gray and light fabrics. I could do more sorting with the trays but they are in much better shape then they were so they will probably go back into their bin. There are also trays of 2" x 3.5" pieces and trays of 3" x 6" pieces. They stack well in the large bin.

I was sorting strips gifted to me and have several in the “I don’t know what color you are” pile either because it’s multi-colored or just not singing ROY B GIV. It’s reassuring to hear you talk about your sorting :)
Great idea to use those trays for color sorting of precut pieces...
You do have a lot of blues and greens there..I seem to have "I don't know what color you are" fabrics in my stash--
60 here and foggy with a few sprinkles this morning... our fog rolls right up the hill from the ocean in waves....
Working on Fish and not happy with how it is looking--but will persevere...I am not good at making consistent really small stitches...hand resting today I think is in order...

My blues would take up the most trays, but I like your idea of sorting the teal/turquoise/aqua separately - mine are all mixed in with blue. You are getting me in the mood to sort!
The way your strips are laid out on the trays makes them look like quilt blocks unto themselves.
I agree with Nann. Your trays almost look like prepared blocks for a colorwash quilt.
What a great way to organize those pieces. I need to find the time to straighten out some of my stuff.
your time spent organizing always seems to work for you because when you get going it on your design it seems to fly.
Oh, you have some beautiful pieces, Wanda! I even have a favorite….that striped piece on the right side blue tray with some brown, red, green in it. Always fun looking at other peoples fabrics…..and exciting when you see something you have too!
Oh my! Love these photos of your trays! When I go to look at mine I hope I can find this post again! -Roxanne ❤️
Oh what a lot of hours it took to sort through your fabrics. Your Meticulous talent shows in these photos, like none other Wanda.
What a marvelous idea to put your colors out in trays where you can see them all so grandly laid out.
Oh my goodness - what a heap of colour in those rectangles, amazing! I know you say they're going back in the bin but do you have a plan for a quilt or quilts with them?
