My son's Mother's Day gift to me was 2 1/2 hours of help cleaning up my yard and gardens. There is no way I could have done alone all that we accomplished together.
My beautiful mulch path through my garden was totally over-run with Lily of the Valley. He brought his weed whacker and cleared a lot of the back garden which takes up a large portion of my back yard. He trimmed 6 large bushes. I'm just not tall enough to do that job.
I only saw two Jack-in-the-Pulpit plants back there. Usually there are about a dozen or more. I don't know if they are just late or if some of them died.
The Cranesbill with the bright flowers is blooming in the front gardens and in the back. Behind it is the one that will have white flowers. A Rose of Sharon volunteer is coming up in the middle of the plant so I need to figure out how to remove it.
The first Columbine is blooming. This plant is quite short and I have several that are 3 times as tall.
This is a top view of the Columbine volunteer that came up near the corner of the sidewalk and driveway. I bet it will be blooming tomorrow or the next day.
It was over 70 yesterday and should be warmer today. It's also going to stay in the 50s and 60s at night so I'll get my porch pots planted today, and maybe the tomato plants too.
A lot of the Lily of the Valley got whacked but there is still plenty that is blooming. I struggle to get low enough for a length of time to pick the flowers so I have to enjoy them where they are.
This is another volunteer plant that came up last year toward the end of the summer. My plant identifying app says that is is Goat's-Beard also known as Yellow Salsify. I think I need to move it elsewhere. To the left of it is the start of Veronica and the red Coneflower with the fluffy center.
I couldn't get a picture of the blooms in focus because there was a breeze and they kept moving. I'll try again today. The center of the flowers is very interesting.
My daughter's family sent me a bouquet for Mother's Day. It is jam-packed with beautiful flowers.
Happy Mother's Day!

How lovely of your son to help with the back yard. If I was near, I’d come cut or work out that Rose of Sharon for you…..I am on the war path against those in our yard!
That is a lovely gift! I am planning to spend my day putting some new plants into a freshly weeded garden bed and the sitting at my sewing machine.
that was great of your son- that is the kind of present we can use - help with the garden work - I love hosta's and mine haven't been divided in years and I doubt I will ever get around to it anymore- I'm just not going to worry about it - pretty flowers from your daughter.
A Mother’s Day gift ~ Couldn’t have been a better gift from Scott ~ all looks so beautiful and to receive a GORGEOUS bouquet from Vicki. Great post ❣️
What a lucky Mom. A beautiful bouquet AND 2 hours of garden work. I've a couple of garden projects I need help with. Hopefully the twins boys across the street from me will be available soon.

What a great gift from your son! I know your daughter also does lots for you as well. Happy Mother's Day!
Those are wonderful Mother's Day gifts from your son and daughter! Those hostas are so pretty, as well as the rest of your yard. I guess even your area will get some heat this week. We had the most beautiful weather over the weekend, so I'm thankful for that.
Your flowers are looking good and the bouquet is lovely! I told my son not to get me anything for Mother's Day. All I want is some help around my house with jobs I need an extra pair of hands for.
