To continue I MUST make a decision. This one is all quilted and bound and now do I or don't I want to add the bead trim. First here it is without And here the trim is just laying on top of it to help make the decision. This one is 19" x 20".
This is a closeup of the trim. I like it both ways.
And then on to this one. I finished sewing blocks 2 nights ago and just plopped them up on a design wall. Right now it would measure 50" x 63" if I don't make any more blocks. I guess the decision here is do I want a small quilt or make it into a bigger one. I don't think it would be a good wallhanging. I think it is more of a couch throw or bed quilt style.
Any votes on either one?

Wanda...you are so prolific! Do you ever sleep? You are really inspiring me!
Yes imquilternity, I do sleep and even take an afternoon nap. Then I can sew until 11 p.m.
I love it when we get to vote (*._,*) As much as I love to emblish, I'm not sure I would add the bead trim. It makes a statement without any thing added. I would make your red piece into a couch throw. More people would see it... It is so striking.

No beaded trim. The composition is complete without it, and the lines of the beads compete. This little quilt is great!
I vote for the beads. I think that it should be a bed size quilt because it is so beautiful. Happy New Year!
I like the beads too. I think the other one should be a quilt, not a wall hanging.
I vote for no beads - not on this one. It's too wonderful just the way it is.
I vote for a lap throw or a bed quilt (not a wall hanging).
What lovely work! I vote either for no beads or to have beads only at the top. If the beads are only at the top, then they add texture to the quilting. If they are at the bottom, then they appear too "open weave" and fragile against the solidity of the fabric.
I agree with you that the red block quilt would be better as a larger project than as a wall hanging. What great colors and simplicity!
I vote for beads, but agree with kf -- only on the quilt not hanging from the bottom. Also agree red block quilt with make a wonderful throw or twin bed quilt.
IMHO - the beads are OK, just not THOSE beads on THAT piece. That lovely piece seems more earthy, natural, and beads are kinda glitzy. I DO like those dark lines in the fabric at the bottom and maybe some black, more natural beads might work. I definitely DON"T like the braid on the beads.
Now just watch, you'll do it and it will be absolutely stunning! LOL
The beads are o.k., but not WOW! In my opinion, they do not "bring anything to the party" as Alton Brown says. I don't think you NEED them.
Personally, I find them a distraction and would leave them out.
Add the beads!!!!! and maybe some more special ones on the quilt......Linda
No beads, and as someone said one more of blocks along the side and across,Wig.
I'd take the bottom quilt and do some cutting of it like the top quilt and insert strips and border it.
It could then be a large wall quilt, a throw or if it asks for enough extra stuff it might even become a bed quilt. Just listen to it tell you what it want.KS
I like it without the beads.
I don't really think the beads add anything to this piece , just mho

I had to come back and read the added comments after mine yesterday to see how the vote was progressing. Although I love to embellish.... I agree with both Elaine and Millie ~ But if beading is what you feel. I would keep searching for the 'show stopper'. Like Elaine suggested in earthy, naturals.(I would look for black with neutrals). I'm not even going leave my initials on this one. I seem to mispell words quite often in haste with my comments.
I would leave the beads off, The piece is lovely without them. The natural or black might be ok, but I too, dislike the braid. It is odd, as I rather like beads-just not those.
As to the red quilt, that should be a throw at least. I love the way it showcases the fabrics, it is Wandaful!!
I read all the comments first, but I have to say I'm voting "no beads". First of all, I had to really look for them in the 2nd picture so I don't think they add anything. (Its a wonderful wallhanging on its own!) And the red quilt - definitely a couch throw at least. I am crazy about this one - maybe even bed-sized. I agree with whoever suggested throw-sized so more people would see it! You are so talented - whatever you choose to do will be great!
I love the beads! Add them! It's like the crowning touch on a glorious quilt... makes the whole thing dance!
Keep the beads!
As for the other quilt, I think it would make a fine throw and the current size would work well for that. Make more blocks only if you feel compelled to. Otherwise, move on to the yellow log cabins!
I feel un-worthy of commenting on any design factor in one of your quilts BUT...(in a tiny little voice)no beads. The piece is delicious all by itself-needs nothing else.
The second quilt is so beautiful-those drenched, intense colors are beautiful.
Can't wait to see what you do with the yellows-log cabin is a constant favorite of mine.
no beads - more blocks!
Hmmm, just the ones on the top I think. They don't show much in the photo, but I think in person they would be an interesting addition.
