Clean desk, empty mind?

Before my company came I cleaned off my computer desk which is in the guest bedroom. If you don't think this looks clean you should have seen it before. The section on the right (that looks like 2 drawers) pulls out about 4 feet and provides another knee hole area as well as a lower file drawer. This area was handy with the first sewing machine that had to be hooked directly to the computer to send embroidery designs. Now when I pull it out it becomes another flat surface that I can pile things on. Added later: a couple people asked about the quilt in this picture. If you go to LABELS on the right side of my blog and click on Prismatic Garden, it was shown on Aug. 2, 2007. But.....I don't want you to think the whole house is clean. This is the sewing table. It doesn't look like I have worked there lately, does it?
These blocks have been up on the little cardboard design wall in my studio for several months. I was trying to add more black and white to it. I may swap the position of a couple blocks and then I am going to sew it together.
I did get the border sewn on while my company was still here. The sag on the bottom will be smoothed in when I baste it. Since there are bias edges on some of the blocks it is easy to stretch this one out of shape if I'm not careful.
Next to my big hostas in the back garden I have this teeny little hosta. I thought it was so cute when I bought it but I need to move it to a better area this fall.
I'm helping out at a store every afternoon this week so I haven't gotten much done at home. At least I have gotten a little energy back.

You're sewing table looks like mine! You mean that isn't clean? That's about as clean as it gets at my house! Blessings, marlene

I have a theory that all surfaces should be slanted. I like the narrow dark border on the blue top.

That blue quilt has got to be one of my favorites. I feel like I fall into it!

Have you shared a full shot of the quilt behind your computer workstation yet?

Looks like a high energy and creative place to me! I straighten up my piles once every 2 weeks so that the cleaning lady can clean under them. 2 days later it's all a wreck again.

I am hoping to get back to our quilts soon. My back isn't quite ready to push around the quilting machine and we have a zillion tomatoes to turn into sauce too. But the quilts are still on the priority list!

The blueberry quilt is, I think, one of my favourites. Of course, every time you post a new quilt I think the same thing!
The batiks with the black and white prints is giving me an idea. I have some black and white shirting prints and no idea what to do with them -- I think perhaps I'll pair them up with some of the batiks from your contest and see where that leads me. :-)
I would also like to see a shot of the quilt hanging on the wall by your computer station -- it looks fabulous!

Having your energy back is so important; I'm glad to hear that. You should see my work area when there's fabric works in progress! I'm too chicken to photograph and publish it! I love the little hosta! Makes me think that I should check mine to see if I have any little ones that I could transplant.

You are so brave! I certainly don't let anyone see my sewing room, but I guess we fellow quilters are the one who would understand! The rest of the world might not!!
