I sewed a few of the pinwheel blocks yesterday (12") but mostly was reading yesterday.
I'm officially done mowing my grass, forever. I had a battery powered mower and the charger got caught on the rope on my garage door and was yanked out of the socket and cracked when it hit the cement floor in the garage. The mower was 25 years old and the company no longer stocks parts for their mowers of that age. I had intended to quit at the end of this year anyway. A neighbor on the street behind me mowed my grass with a riding mower the morning of the day I got my new pacemaker. I had never met him before. I had asked the neighbor next door if they would finish the season for me and I guess they told him I needed help. I went out to talk to him and thanked him and he said this is what neighbors do, help each other.

That sounds like an angel neighbor! 25 years is a long time to have a mower, must have been a good one.
I agree with message sent from the universe that killed your lawn mower, you shouldn’t mow any more. It won’t be done with the same care you took, but so lovely of your neighbor to take care of it for you…..amazing neighbors you have!
my neighbors have done the same for me for two years now! Such a wonderful thing to do fo others!! now you have more hours with your fabrics!!
that was one task glad to jettison....
So sorry about the mower but how sweet of the neighbor to step in to help you!
Stay well!

Your blue pinwheel combinations are so pretty. And good to hear you did a lot of reading too. Rest is the best ‘rehab’ after any surgery.
Well THAT was a definitive conclusion to your mowing career (grin). Thank goodness for good neighbors! Your pinwheels are wonderful - this will be a very pretty quilt top.
Large and small acts of kindness mean so much! I have discovered that since I have been using a cane!
I love your pinwheels! And you are right - good neighbors are wonderful!
I have a half acre lot and I started hiring someone to mow my lawn about 8 years ago. Best thing I ever did! I'd much rather spend that time doing something I enjoy!

You will have such pleasant memories to reflect on when you see the pinwheels in your quilt….the kindness of your neighbor and when you got your pacemaker replaced.
So pleased to hear that you have 'real' neighbours nearby, so many folk these days hardly see their neighbours, great pity.
Your pinwheels are looking good!!
What a lovely thing for your neighbors to do for you! If I know you, I wouldn’t be surprised if you reward them now and then with baked goodies!
Sorry to hear of the death of your charger, but how wonderful your neighbor is going to help you out.
What a nice neighbor!
Great to have a neighbor who can take over! (Do you have a snowplow guy?) Your blue HSTs are beautiful.
