16 years.................

16 years ago today I started writing my blog, my online diary.  I'm still having fun so plan on seeing more of my quilts and gardens.

The only sewing I did yesterday was parts for the Kaffe Fonthill quilt.  I now officially am half finished making pinwheels.  I have all of the 160 single border triangle squares sewn now.  I probably should cut the wide borders from the stripe fabric and start putting some of this up on the design wall.  The only drawback is that I have a ceiling fan in this room so I could forget to put it on low speed and have a disaster.

It was nice yesterday morning and I should have gone out then to mow the front yard.  But.....I waited until the humidity started rising and it got hotter and hotter, 88 degrees.  I did wait until it dropped to 84 and the sun was getting ready to set and mowed half of the front yard.  First though I dug out some tall weeds.

I showed my cute little yellow Coneflower recently.  I went to check on it late yesterday and it is gone.  Some critter must have had it for lunch.  There are a few new leaves starting to grow so maybe it will come back.

Happy to hear that you are continuing to post here and to share your lovely quilts and gardens with us;))) I feel that the number of bloggers has fallen off lately...
We are in a dense fog bank here this morning at 6:30 already 70 with a 69 dewpoint. I think our treadmill will get a workout today....
hugs, Julierose
HAPPY 4th of JULY ;)))

I now have tomato cages (or portions of them) with netting stapled around them to protect my cone flowers from either rabbits or chipmunks. Looks like ghosts sitting in the flower beds. Not attractive but I get to see the flowers bloom even if no one else sees much of them.

Congratulations on consistency, content and clarity of your blog over these many years. I started following you in September of 2011. In the past year, I have spent $$ on green chicken wire and hammering stakes around my flowers. This year, my flowers are full and undisturbed by the rabbits although they try digging underneath from time to time.

Love your progress on the HSTs and Pinwheels. Fonthill is going to be beautiful!!

It's hot and horribly humid here with the air so thick it's hard to breathe.

Happy anniversary on your wonderful blog and Happy 4th! :)

Hugs!

Happy blogaversary, Wanda!

The weekend's storms hit the city and inner suburbs -- like you, we got an inch or so. But enough to green things up.

WooHoo on 16 years of sharing your lovely quilts and the gardens! May it continue for many more years, because I still have much to learn from your quilts.

16 years ago today ! And sharing your diary from your daily life, has been so special ! Lots has happened over those years ~ but most of all your creative works of needle artwork on your quilts has been awesome to see. Its been quite a ride and your truly need to light up a sparkler or two and celebrate.

Hurray for 16 years of color and inspiration. Not only do you post daily, but you respond to comments and willing share your knowledge with all. Friday and Saturday's storms went all around us, but we got an inch of rain yesterday spread out through most of the day. The deer have eaten my day lily buds and the tops off the phlox.

Happy Blog Anniversary, Wanda!
So glad to hear you will continue to inspire us with your quilting and gardening!
Here in central Virginia, it is HOT AND HUMID!!! The prediction was for rain last night but it did not materialize. We did have some short lived thunder and dark skies late yesterday afternoon, but not a drop of rain…. Hope we get rain sometime this week…everything is so dry.
Thanks again for your daily post….I don’t comment often, but I read your blog every morning.

Kudos to you, Wanda! Sixteen years! I began watching your blog about ten years ago and have been a steady viewer ever since. Quilting is what drew me to your blog, but I think that it is the steady telling, of sharing your moving forward day by day that draws me to tune in regularly. Thank you for sharing your life not only so regularly, but with continued encouragement to viewers to say to ourselves, we can keep moving ahead in our pursuits, too. Here's to another terrific year!
