The center layout yesterday was most popular with the commenters. Today I decided to try a half drop on every other row. This creates a zig zag pattern between rows.
Compare the layout above to this one from yesterday that creates diamonds between the rows. I have lots more sewing to do before I need to make a decision.
This will be another small quilt, most likely baby size or lap size.
The last 2 days have been gloomy and cold, like 40s cold. I took this photo from inside. There was a freeze warning overnight last night so maybe the rest of the buds won't even open. My trees by the driveway look the best of my 9 Redbud trees.

Love the twisted ribbons look! Cold around here also. The tulips are in bud but just sitting there waiting for warmth.

Spring is such a fickle time of year, weather-wise. I hope you redbuds survived the cold.
I like the change you added in the first block. Here too we keep getting cooler days and night. last night was possible to be 38 but here it said 44 now as cold as expected but usually by this time of April it is consistently in the mid to upper 50's I think. Of course next week we will probably jump to the 80/60 range overnght

This is a great layout. Several years ago a friend of mine made one like this with wonderful graphic prints and a great chartreuse; though she didn't give it to me, it's still one of my favourite quilts.
We have unexpedly cool weather here too. Actually, I'm enjoying it. The more I look at this layout, the more I like it.
I'm amazed at how the shift opened up yesterday's mockup! It gives it a softer look and a natural flow!

Both layouts are interesting but I like the zig-zag setting better. We had frost on the rooftops this morning. I'm SO ready for warmer weather!

The half-drop was a brilliant idea and I love the ethereal look it gives the quilt. Add me to the list of those who love this top photo even more than yesterday's picture.
In central Virginia we're having cooler days (low 60s*F) and nights in the low 40s*F, too. So far, the flowers and flowering shrubs and trees are okay.

I love both of the layouts with these pink blocks (and the third from yesterday). The two today are very interesting - I can't decide which one I like better.
I really like both layouts but if I had to choose one I think I like the top one better.
9 redbuds!! Gosh, that must be a beautiful sight. I have one scraggly one. So far everything here that has been planted or bloomed have survived several frosts and snows and hails. Even the most fragile of plants sure seem to be tough.
