Flannel fun.......................
In the morning yesterday I pressed the seam of the 3rd large backing and while the iron was on lots of small yardage pieces of flannel were ironed. I'm ready to do some major cutting today for 3 more flannel quilts. I need to have something ready to sew tonight. Last night I did the staystitching around the pinwheel top and sewed strata for fourteen 16 patch blocks.
I took a closeup shot of the fabric that looks like aqua in the pinwheel quilt. It is a teeny tiny houndstooth check woven of blueish green and white.

Cutting and pressing are not my favorite parts of the quilting process, but it sounds like you had a productive day. That is a very tiny houndstooth check!
I need to get back to prep cutting out things, such a good idea & makes for more productive sewing, thanks for the reminder, the aqua hounds tooth is perfect for the pinwheels
the close up does show up a bit of a different color doesn't it - the computer always does odd things with color doesn't it
Those colors will be so beautiful in the 16-patch blocks;)))
Just got home from early food shopping --temp registers 37 but we have pretty gusty winds bringing the "feels like" way down--and our grocery store's parking lot gets wind sweeping right off the CT River--brrr....
We treated our selves to apple turnovers and hot , hot coffee when we got home...
Hope to make some pink/green snowball blocks this morning...Think Spring hahaha
Hugs, Julierose
Yesterday’s pinwheel top spins right to my heart, so full of warmth and charm. And I too can see your ‘Flannel Fun’ ~ with all your great looking flannels today is a warm treat on a very wintery day here in the mountains.

You brilliantly go from one quilt to the next, cutting, pressing, as needed and on you go!
I love that tiny hound's tooth fabric.
Have fun!
Hugs!
Way to go, Wanda! Do you have flannel yardage enough for all the quilt backs?
Sounds like you got a lot of work done so sewing can happen next. I spent most of the day organizing stuff in the studio, cleaning, kitting up some small cross stitch projects, straightening up the kitchen, and painted the entry to my bedroom. Nothing is 100% done, but like your flannel the groundwork prep is done so it is onto the finishing!
