I decided on a 2 tone purple print for the binding on the Gridlock quilt. The backing fabric is a grayed lavender so they look nice together. I have almost half of the hand stitching done.
I also sub cut the last 5 sets of stratas for the 9 patch block and got them sewn. This is 20 blocks. Since they are going to finish at 4.5" I will need to sew some more stratas for the next batch of blocks.
The weather channels I watch on TV are in Chicago and they mentioned no sun for the last 10 days. I think we had a little sun on 2 of those days (I'm 60 miles from Chicago) but most of the days have been pretty dreary. They are promising some sunshine on Sunday but only 30 degrees. It will feel warm inside but only look warm outside..

Great choice for the backing!
Weatherman says rain/snow tonight throughout Friday--we shall see...

that gray lavender binding is really good for the quilt - we have had so many gray cloudy days the past 7 days or so I think the sun might come out for part of the day today but now we go into a long stretch of colder than normal days for us with Xmas time being about 30/20 I wonder if we will get snow flurries - I must remember to get the straw walking mats out and put behind the porch chairs so they will be ready to use when needed - the walking area to the drive way can get a bit icy at times.
New 9 patch blocks look so pretty. Backing and binding really compliment your Gridlock.
We’ve had winter all of November and has continued through this month, another 6” of new snow last night. And several Arctic fronts have hit us. We usually don’t get all this we weather till after Christmas. I bought some new ‘Yak Tracks’ called Diamond Grip, and they really help with my morning walking. My old ‘Yak Tracks’ were just the chains you put on your boots. They were o.k. But these are way better.

That binding looks great! We had sun on Tuesday, but overall it has been very gray here. They came around this morning at work to fix the burnt-out ceiling bulbs to try and brighten up the place.
Wintry mix falling right now. Forecast says 3 to 5" of wet snow by noon tomorrow, but that could change depending on the storm track. Fortunately I have no place I have to go. Those 9 patches are pretty small blocks for you. You'll need a lot of them.

I LOVE the purple binding - it is PERFECT! And we have SUNSHINE today for the first time in ten days! It is glorious.
I love your binding and backing fabrics! They go so well with your quilt. It seems like you start a new quilt every day!
Stay warm. I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I lived in St. Louis, MO for 26 years (though I'm not from there). I remember some brutal cold there - like the time I went eagle watching and another time went Christmas caroling outside, both days with wind chill temps at minus 70 degrees!! We did see a lot of eagles though, on the Mississippi River either in or near Alton, IL.
That binding is looks great on that quilt. I know you aren't too close to Chicago, but I watched the Bears game today and, wow, was it cold! I'm happy with Virginia weather. It's a little unbearably hot in August but we don't often get your type of cold.
