Then I hung it over a chair so the lights from above would show the texture. You can see that no two spirals are anything alike so it was definitely quilted by human hands. Some little baby is going to love this one.

I started quilting another one and I'm not really happy with the quilting, but then I'm not really crazy about the quilt either, so I'll just finish it and give it away.

Oooo... all that puffy crinkliness is one of the reasons I am so in love with quilting! So tactile-ly satisfying!
Beautiful quilting, Wanda. It reminds me of the old fashioned quilts my grandmother used to make.
I love the crinkles. (I need to get some bindings finished so that I can do some serious crinkling of my own!)
I also like how you mixed 2 & 3 rail fence blocks...
I do so love the way quilts transform after being washed and dried ~ softer and crinklier and, as the Velveteen Rabbit taught us, "real." [this aspect has a LOT to do with my abandonment of the silk tie project ~ results weren't going to become a usable, washable, 'real' quilt)
I agree, the crinkles are one of the best reasons for making a quilt. While I'm having fun with the "art" quilts, I keep going back to traditional because of geometry and crinkles. As usual, good job Wanda!
This looks so soft and inviting. Good idea to use your machine light for the photo.
Seeing your baby quilts reminds me that I don't need to make giant quilts! I think I'd get more satisfaction out of doing smaller ones - and I could learn to machine quilt on them as well!
