Quilting finished, binding choices.....................

After looking over my bright stripe collection, I brought these over to the trimmed quilt to audition for a binding.  It has to look good on both front and back of the quilt.

These were the best choices with the backing fabric.

This one is okay with the front too although a little bold.

I think I prefer the narrow stripe since the quilt is small, about 34.5" x 44.5" (I think that is right but wasn't going to go back down to the basement to measure it).

Radar showed that we were in a storm area for about 40 minutes late yesterday afternoon but in the end there was only a slim coating of water in the bottom of the rain gauge and the whole driveway never got wet.  There are more hopes of storms in the next 6 days so I hope we get more rain that that in at least one of the storms.

That narrow stripe looks really perfect again the butterfly background...doesn't overpower it at all...
We are in for yet another steamy day here--at 7 a.m. already 84.9!!
Stay cool--Hoping for rain here too...hugs, Julierose

Wow look at that striped collection! The narrow stripe looks great with the butterfly quilt. Do you happen to know the name of the background on that quilt?

It rained fairly heavily overnight. Cool this morning. I look for stripes as potential bindings, too. Good choice for your butterflies.

I hope you get more rain too, and I like your choice for the binding. Hot and humid here, but that's the norm for us this time of year.

Those are some great stripes. I had some of the one in the first picture that is on the right. I used it all up except for the few scraps I have left.

I agree - the scale of the skinnier stripe suits the butterflies, their background, and the backing. Such a great quilt.

It was fun to see and read how you made your choice for this particular binding. They all looked good to me.
