The binding was finished around 7 last night. I think this is #13 of the total Crooked Cobblestone wall hangings and #12 of batik ones. The blocks in this one were made in 2016 and this was the selection left after making #12. I finished designing and sewing the top in January 2024. I started quilting it in March this year but put it aside for awhile before finishing it this week. It is 36.5" x 57.5".
I took my camera outside yesterday afternoon after the sun came out. We had rain in the morning, but only enough to wet the bottom of the rain gauge.
This is the first Ox-Eye False Sunflower bloom. It is small, about 1.5" across. There will be lots of them soon in the back garden. This one is next to my garage.
Also along the garage, and all across the back garden are the invasive bell flowers. Yes, they are pretty, there are just way too many of them. I have already pulled lots of them but the rest will be pulled out after they bloom. Even though they come out bare root, there will be lots of them next year.
Going around the corner of the house I checked out the tomato plants. Two of the 4th of July variety tomato plants have little groups of tomatoes. The largest are no bigger than a ping-pong ball.
This is the group on the second plant. I also saw 5 little tomatoes on the Early Girl plant. Altogether on 6 plants I counted at least 35 tomatoes. These photographed here will be a little larger than a golf ball when ripe. I like the small tomatoes better than large ones.
Continuing on by the backyard garden, there are still lots of Evening Primrose blooms. I just let them grow wherever they want to be. You can see they are surrounding the Hosta plants.
The pots in front of the garage are doing well. The Coleus won't like the high 90s so I may shelter them inside the garage starting on the second day of the heat wave. I think the petunias will be ok as long as I keep them watered well.

Ah, good reminder to move our coleus plants into a shady spot for the duration of the heat wave. Cobblestones is a treat for the eyes and the binding is perfect :)
Cobblestones is a beauty and looks good with your flower photos! All your plants look so healthy and pretty. Love the potted flowers. We had some pretty coleus out front the first spring we were here but they baked in the heat, so we learned that lesson.
Congratulations on the finish. Some projects take their time! Stay cool....good time to work in the basement studio.
We have too many coleus in the back yard pots to move them but they will hog in the water for the next week to ten days - as much as we will give them!
Great Saturday post ~ Cobblestone finished with a lovely garden tour. Your Coleus in front of your garage is especially pretty.
your tomatoes are coming along nicely and pretty full of them too. I like the quilt - will it be a wall hanging or used as a small quilt? Love the purple flowers and understand of them being invasive I have some plants that are kind of invasive too - one is a vine type of plant that I am constantly pulling out but they keep coming back - this year has been worse for some plants then others for being too thick - it must be all the rain we got this spring.
Cobblestones #13 turned out great and your garden is beautiful!
I never can hold a camera perfectly straight when taking a quilt photograph and all of mine look wonkier than the actual quilt. Coleus does well in our area despite the heat as long as they are kept in the shade and well watered. In your area, however, those high temperatures would probably be too much of a shock.
The cobblestone quilt is beautiful and you have another finish! Woohoo! It good that you can lift those pots to move them to a cooler spot. Meanwhile, the weeds don't seem to mind the heat! LOL!!
