I'm still cleaning and organizing so by evening I was ready to do some sewing. I ditch quilted around the border and around the dark shapes on this one.
I used matching beige thread both top and bottom.
While cleaning off table tops I found this one that had its backing and batting with it so it got quilted too. I just ditch quilted both sides of the black strips in each block. This one is a small placemat size.
I used black thread on top and orange thread in the bobbin. I'll get both of these trimmed today and choose some binding fabrics.
We have an air quality alert because of Canadian fire smoke drifting over our area now so I didn't spend any time outside.

You are unearthing things left and right :) I like the backing on your table runner and, as you mentioned, it makes a lovely reversible runner. I couldn’t really get a feel for it in the previous pictures.
Your runner is so pretty, love the ditch quilting as it makes those pretty fabrics the star of the show. Ugh on the smoke!
we have not had any of the Canadian smoke come down into my area of Arkansas although there has been some in the eastern part of the state - sounds like really bad fires up there like California had earlier in the year.
It will be good to get those small projects done
Canadian smoke engulfing Illinois this spring is a first isn’t it ? I have to check air quality every day before I go out. And that extra smoke would definetely keep me from my walking. Not fun by any means. But I seeing your progress inside makes me smile. Fun to see your placemat from days gone by.
What a perfect backing for that first one! The "air alert" we have here is, "It's too hot to go outside!"
