Backings , cross seams....................

I took the easy route and made the backing out of the lavender Martha Negley print.  The other 2 fabrics would have been time consuming and I wasn't sure I would even like them pieced together. The backing is seamed and pressed and as soon as I cut the batting, it will all be ready for the longarmer.

I also chose the backing for the table runner.  It has some of the same colors that are in the top but will be interesting on it's own when the table runner is flipped over.

I spent an hour putting away fabrics in the basement, a long overdue task.

I finished sewing all of the rows on the Tilda triangle quilt.  I have enough of one of the light fabrics to add a narrow border.  I would lose too many points in the binding if I don't add a border.  I didn't measure it but it should be about 44" x 64" right now.  I also have the option of using up the ends of a lot of the fabrics and making a scrappy border.

I had a few Coleus plants left over so I got them into a pot a few days ago in time for our rain.  We only got 1/2" over a 12 hour period and are now officially in a drought area according to the ABC weatherman.

Love that choice for your Martha N quilt. I think it is fun to use a backing with the same colors but different design, as you did for the runner. Sorry to hear about the rain, I know that is so disappointing.

I hadn't had a Coleus plant in years but picked one up for the porch this year - it is not real large and I don't know if I would need to repot it - I haven't really checked that yet as it seems to be ok in the pot that it is in right now - it has very bright colors - I used to get quite a few and plant them in the flower beds - if I remember right they prefer shade? I didn't even look them up when I got the one I did.
I like the backing you picked out to go with the pink.

I think we got more rain than you did, though it's still way too dry. Sunshine and warmer temps were welcome today. I'm not familiar with Martha Negley so I'm going to look her up.

I do like your choice of the MN fabric for the backing, goes beautifully with the softness of her fabrics in the quilt.
I have quite a collection of Tilda fabrics and now having seen your triangles that would be an easy one to get together I think.
