My binding choice is looking good on the Crooked Cobblestones wall hanging. I finished the long side and also finished one short side and turned the corner onto the next long side.
While my daughter and granddaughter were visiting we went over to the next town to the furniture store and sat in many recliners to choose one that fits me perfectly. My old recliner was at least 31 years old and just not comfortable anymore. The furniture store is family owned since 1886 and they offer free delivery and free removal of the furniture you are replacing.
We finally got some rain, all day yesterday and into the night and there was still only a little less than 1/2" in the rain gauge. Towns only 20 miles away got over 2" with some getting 3". I'm hoping when I check it this morning that it will be over 1/2".

nothing like a comfy recliner....
That binding really looks good on Cobblestones. Yay on the recliner! I hope you enjoy it. My husband and I have a lot of trouble getting comfy furniture anymore. We've bought and sold several times and still haven't got the "perfect" fit for us. Hope you got the rain you wanted. We are in for a dry spell, and my garden is already bone dry from the wind that blows constantly.
Goodness, sounds, like you are located in a dry, drought island. If you are like me, you owned your recliner 31 years but it started getting uncomfortable 10 years ago. I always wait so long to replace something, it gets to the point of ridiculousness.
Is your new recliner ~ is that where you sit when hand stitching and knitting ? It really looks comfortable and just right for you too. And speaking of bindings ~ it looks perfect for your cobblestone plus your perfect hand stitched closing stitches .
Your new recliner is great. I keep telling Mike we need to get rid of the Love Seat couch and get two recliners - we can put them closer to the wall with a table in between them and they should fit fine - the loveseat is collapsing and not comfortable in least. Your binding is looking great - glad you are or had a good visit with your daughter and family.
Good for you to get the recliner rather than telling yourself you could get a little more use out of it.....Binding is coming along well. So happy to have had some rain. Hot, hot temps on the way!
Good for you for updating your chair! And how wonderful that the store goes those extra miles for their customers.
So great that you had free delivery and takeaway. I went with my Mom to purchase one, and she ended up not liking it and had to pay to deliver AND return - and a restocking fee to boot !
Love the new cobblestone quilt and binding. Did you design the layout similar to your colorwash quilts ?
Nice new chair! We need to go shopping for new recliners too. Chris' has a tear in it.
Yes, after 31 years, you deserve a new chair. My favorite chair should be reupholstered, but other house repairs need to come first. Yesterday, we had just over 2" of rain in less than hour. Some surrounding areas had up to 6". A road about a mile from my house had a bridge over a creek washed out. We had another brief gully washer today, but I haven't checked the rain gauge yet.

I'm finally listening to my wonderful chiropractor. When seated, my hip joint must be level with, or higher than my knees. If I want fewer visits to her, then, "no more recliners, ever". I've made it into a Life-Command for me. A friend dropped off a glider chair for me to try when I get home. I hope it works for me.

That looks like a comfortable chair! I am just catching up from being off.
