The first of 2 Tilda fabric quilts is finished. It is a little brighter in person. It ended up at 55" x 70" and has Hobbs 80/20 batting in it.
The backing fabric was purchased in 1975 or 76 at a fabric store in my town. They were selling clothing fabric since quilt shops were really rare at that time. There isn't any name on the edge of the fabric. It was only 38" wide and that was after being washed so it might have been 40" to start with. The quilt was longarm quilted by Robin Diaz.
The redbuds are getting ready to bloom. The buds are nice and fat. It got up to 73 yesterday and today is supposed to be warmer.
I went out to take pictures of growing things and met my new neighbors south of me.
This is the white Bleeding Heart plant. I'm happy to see it back again.
This is one of the largest Pulmonaria/Lungwort plants in the back garden. The leaves are so tiny while the plants are blooming. Then they get huge for the rest of the summer. I love the spots.
One large Brunnera plant is blooming in that same area. The tiny blue flowers are similar to Forget-me-not.
I have some more plant photos that I'll post tomorrow after I edit them.

Yay, for Tilda finish #1. We are flying home to PA and I excited to see what’s blooming in our yard. I love seeing pictures of your blooming things.
Your Tilda quilt is just perfect! How nice to meet your new neighbors. Love all your blue touches in your gardens - my favorite garden color, but rarely do I find anything blue that will survive the heat here. I always look for the intense blue Lobelia, which does well in early spring but wilts quickly once temps get into the high 80s. Your plants all look so happy in their little habitats!
Your yard looks so nice! I believe the Tilda quilt is my favorite of your finishes. It’s really pretty!
That was a great backing choice for your Tilda quilt. Fabric from the mid-70s? How did you ever manage to keep track of where and when you bought it?
Simply beautiful Tilda finish, Wanda...just so pretty!!
My bleeding hearts are just beginning to show some greenery...
61 here with a still chilly wind...went food shopping this morning and plan on chicken pot pie for dinner tonight...
Hugs, Julierose
the Tilda quilt turned out so well it has a look of antique to me - some might think it is much older than it is - was this fabric in your stash for a long time?
Beautiful quilt - those colors are just so pretty together. Wow you have a lovely yard!
I've been trying to think of a word that comes to mind for these fabrics. Though the colors are pale, pastel isn't quite the word. Finally I hit on Chalky. They remind me of the colors in a box of sidewalk chalk. Very pretty quilt!
How times have changed! Now finding a place that sells garment fabrics is rare and quilt shops are fairly common, though not as many of those any more either. I have noticed a few sewing machine dealers started to carry more garment fabrics again, along with garment patterns from independent companies. It will be interesting to see what changes, if anything, with the killing off of Joann Fabrics.
Your first lovely Tilda quilt all finished makes such a charismatic statement. And your springtime blossoms added to todays post was such a treat.
It's such a pretty quilt.
Oh, your yard pictures are so lovely and have me itching to work in my courtyard. I’ve only done the cleanup and hauling out Stuff so far. Maybe I can make a trip to the garden center in the next week to get some mulch and perennials to plant. My brunnera is blooming like crazy too, and my housekeeper thought it was forget-me-nots. So I agree they are fairly similar! Your Tilda quilt is gorgeous,,
The quilt is very pretty and it has to be fun seeing what is coming up in your garden.
