Yesterday was the first day this week without strong wind so I went grocery shopping and filled my gas tank.
When I got to the sewing machine I continued sewing triangle squares and then decided to play with some of the parts in the box. If I decide to sew this block I need to start sewing more hourglass blocks. I have a couple more ideas to try too.
This is one of the racks in the basement that I can see now that the excess design walls are gone. On top is interfacing and fusible fleece, next shelf down is Australian/Aboriginal fabrics, then 2 shelves of black and white, followed by African fabrics and some miscellaneous. On the bottom is pinks, pastels, some backing fabrics and one miscellaneous pile. I'm just happy to not have to move a wall every time I need something from this shelf unit.
Last night I played with a collection of Kaffe 2.5" squares to see if I have a good selection for a colorwash. There are too many golds and not enough greens for one thing and not enough medium/dark values.

Love the colorplay on this post, especially the colors/prints on the first block. I like how the colorwash looks like the sun is shining on it. Nice that you have your space back!
It is good you can now easily get to that shelfing unit. It is so annoying not having easy access when you are on a roll!
those shelves are great...i have 2, one for stash and one for kitchen....was rummaging thru my kaffe stash looking for yellows and hardly any so i might have to add a few for future projects...
That 1st block is so pretty--I really like those light squares at the outside corners..;)))
I went out early this mild morning (47 and no wind) and did the food shopping. So nice to see sunshine..
I am adding a full moon to my Dark Days Stars block..today I will work on invisibly basting it to the block...and then I will decide how to fancy stitch around it...I am feeling this project is sort of like my crazy-quilts in style--or getting that way...
I hope your Easter weekend is wonderful Hugs, Julierose
That is a beautiful block. And how nice to be able to see all those fabrics again.
Love your block ~ it just sparkles. Such a neat and so organized shelving unit to have come out of hiding after a few years. And oh my ~ your color washes always melts my heart and so does this one too.
I love that your piles on the wire shelves are not so high. It gives you clearance to reach in and shuffle though….….there’s a lesson for me there ;).
you have a very nice amount of white/black I love them. I have more than I used to after seeing yours some years back.
Wow! Now i have to make something like that. I have enough leftovers to sink a ship. Beautiful!
