I decided to spend all of my sewing time on the binding on this Tilda quilt yesterday. I made it around to the 4th corner and a few more inches. I have 40" left to stitch on one short side.
I realized yesterday that the backing fabric looked like a black print in my photos. I put it under my Ottlite and took a close up. It is medium blue and navy blue on a cream color background. It goes really well with the blue Tilda fabrics.
We got some rain yesterday and I didn't get my rain gauge out until most of the early rain had stopped. I'll check today and see how much rain we got in the later storms around 10 p.m.

The backing looks so perfect with your Tilda project...
Partly sunny here and only 48 this morning...still chilly...but supposed to warm up throughout the upcoming week...
Yes I see I was wrong about the color of the backing, the blues are really pretty. I'd love to go on a tour of your yard! :D
oh yeah love the backing
You're closing in on another finish!
We had quite a bit of rain last night (midnight-ish). Things are damp and greener this morning. I do hope you are keeping the Tilda quilt for yourself - it's lovely.
I like that blue binding very much. Is that an African Dutch Wax fabric on the back? That is a beautiful print!
The finish line is in sight! Sprinkles here yesterday, and chilly.
Nice rainy day to continue your hand stitching your binding… What a surprise to see the blue in the print on your backing , and happy you took a photo of it . As it did look like a black and white print on my screen also.
You have zoomed right around the binding. The backing is gorgeous in its own right and coupled with the Tilda front, makes this a wonderfully special finish.
the binding goes great with it. You are finishing it quickly
