The twig print border #4 was a good finish for this piece. I started with the center block in July 2016. Borders were added little by little over the years. I wish now that the center was better looking. I could unpick it and add something else in the center but I'll have to think about that for awhile. It is 45.5" x 57.5" right now. The overall size won't change if I decide on something else for the center.
I gave a final press to the other wild little quilt top. It is 40" square.
The center section of this one was started in December 2015 and the center was completed in January 2016. Then it waited for the next 2 borders to be added in a period of 9 years. Ridiculous, I know. This one is considered finished so I will get it quilted soon.
I had four 4 patch blocks leftover from the first quilt so I pulled out the box containing components for more 4" blocks. There were some short strips left too so I can make some more 4 patches.

i think the border is perfect...i love them both...
I just love that twig border! Lots of pretty color on your board.
I say done is done on the quilt with the twig border. I’m sure you have more UFOs to work on, like the rest of us! 😛
I do like the Twig fabric on the borders...both quilts are beautifully colorful, Wanda...such "happy" pieces--nice works...
49 here and partly sunny --at long last a peek at Mr. Sun!!
We got our covid shots yesterday and the only reaction is a sore arm...so taking it easy on the hand quilting today...

The final twig border finishes it off perfectly. I hear what you are saying about the center but zooming in, all the fabrics are interesting. Guess we’ll wait and see what you end up deciding:). I adore the smaller finish, it’s like a colorful circus merry-go-round.
Regarding the Twig quilt: I must admit, I rather like the center of that quilt. It’s not as orderly as the rest of the quilt and catches your attention. I notice, too, it includes my favorite Kaffe Fassett fabric of all time, Freckles. That fabric is the mother of all neutrals! It goes with everything and is definitely not boring.
I like the center! The twig border looks great!
Nope. No unpicking needed. The two quilts on the design wall look like they're in a gallery. Gorgeous.
I think leave the quilt as it is and don't unpick it - but that is just my input LOL - you will decide.
Your creativity in using leftovers continues to amaze me. These are very happy tops!
Two exclusive stunning quilt tops from the studios of “Exuberant Color” ~ you did it again Wanda .
Those are great finishes for both of them!
What a wonderful new life you’ve given the scraps in those two quilts. Life is too short to unpick where it isn’t necessary! They are both stunning!!
I think you did splendid job on both of these. It took time to acquire and generate the scraps that yielded the additional borders - no worries about how long it took. WELL DONE!!
Both tops are fun but I’m very impressed with your twigs. I had a smaller amount of some birch trees and never could find as good a place to use them as you have. Congratulat
Oh, I really like the twig bordered quilt. Is that a Martha Negley fabric? I can find some in other colors but not the black.
