I had a gift certificate to use at a local garden center so I made a trip there yesterday. I got Pansies for the pot on my porch. I was disappointed that they didn't have any orange ones since they are the scented variety.
I also got a 4 pack of tiny tomato plants for $2.39. I will plant them in the next size containers and keep them in my garage. I'll might then move them up to another size container before they get planted outside. It will depend on how fast they grow. these are the Rutgers variety which I really like.
I kept moving pieces on the Kaffe colorwash but it still needs more work. I looked for 2 pink fabrics to fill in the last 2 spots.
So far I have only found one that is the right value. I will continue to search today.

Pretty pansies. My only experience with them was when we lived in a subdivision that had deer that regularly visited - apparently they love to eat them! Do you mainly eat your tomatoes, or do you can?
The pansies are so pretty! I won't be getting any since the deer like them. I did get some California poppy seeds that are a giant flower size like that one plant I had pop up toward the end of last summer. My back is still bothering me so I don't think I will be crawling around in the flower beds for at least another week.
Just lovely pansies--I will only be getting a small pot for my deck as they only provide dessert for our foraging deer population here if out in any garden space...:((( I didn't know the orange ones are scented--I will have to look for some...
53 here at 8 am--it will be warm today--hoping to walk our cul-de-sac and try out a small hill...
I hope your upcoming weekend is a good one hugs, Julierose
Hooray for time in the garden center - I find it so relaxing to spend time with all the young plants and the possibilities (I try to ignore the work involved parts while browsing). Happy Easter weekend.
Looks like a very nice trip to your garden center and with a bonus of a gift card as well. Fun to see your colorwash production ~ you will no doubt find the pink you are looking for today if you haven’t already.
I didn't know orange pansies have a scent - I never think to get them to plant - when they start coming out I am not thinking of planting I guess as here you can plant them in February I think it is. I have 8 Roma tomato plants and really need to get them in the garden if I don't today I need to water them anyhow and put them up closer to the front door as it will be windy and off and on rain this coming week I think.
