I spent time outside doing more garden clean up and didn't get a lot done in the studio. I found a little pile of batik triangle squares and since there were 4 matching of each, I made 20 little Broken Dishes blocks. Sewn together these would make a placemat size piece. I could just save them in the batik orphan block box and use them as filler blocks. I'll press them and then decide what to do with them.
I also cut all of the Kaffe sewn strips into segments for 4 patches and sewed them together. Another pile to press.
I brought the Tilda Whimsy quilt and binding strips up from the basement, but no progress there. I have a flare up of my sciatic nerve that has me moving around to calm it down.
If you look to the left of the rocks, Chippy is back this year. I only noticed chipmunks around my front porch last year. This year they are back going for the birdseed.
The Redbuds are getting pinker by the day.
the Lenten Roses are larger. All of the green leaves around the bricks are the invasive Bellflowers that are coming up everywhere.
All of my violets are in the backyard....except this little volunteer that showed up in the front flowerbed.
There are two volunteer Columbines in the front garden too. This one is over by my mailbox, the other is by my Hydrangea bush. I need to move this one because it will start leaning over the sidewalk and get trampled if I don't.

Oh sorry about that sciatica flare up, Wanda--not fun!!
Your garden spots are really growing well...
52 here and sunny this morning. Hoping to go for an outside walk today; if my back cooperates...hugs, Julierose
Hope you feel better soon. Mom and Granny used to say their "sciatic nerve" was acting up! I always click on your photos for up close, but especially the garden ones. Love the close up of the sandstone on your house. How lucky to have violets and columbine coming up in odd places!
All the flowering trees have been especially beautiful this year. Our redbuds that line the lake have already started to leaf out. My Lenten roses are going to town, too.
sorry about the sciatic nerve good you can keep moving. All the plants are looking good. I'm having trouble with the blog once again and will not post for a couple days but will share some photos on Instagram in the meantime - off to Paducah in a little bit for a couple days.
when my sister was little, my mother would make up bedtime stories about chippy the chipmunk...she is 64 now but i can still hear my mother telling them...
As the saying goes “Motion is Lotion” easy to say and hope your sciatic flare up subsides. Lots of work inside and outside these spring days may even agrivate it more.
The above comment was me 🥴
Well, you have such a lovely garden that OF COURSE all the flowers want to volunteer! 😉.
Always a pleasure to see photos of your garden plants Wanda, the Columbines love to pop up in the most unexpected places at our place but I do enjoy them so they live wherever they like! Nice to see the first Tilda quilt finished.
I hope your sciatica is better. My back pain is almost gone. Rubbing Bio Freeze on it has helped a lot.
