I have 3 more hours into the hand stitching of the binding on this Tilda Whimsy quilt so I have 2 1/2 sides done. Maybe 2 more evenings and it will be done.
I did more die cutting yesterday on the batiks strips that are between 3" and 6" wide. I'm cutting 2" x 3.5" rectangles, 2.5" x 4.5" rectangles and 2" squares. The piece that is leftover on most of the pieces is large enough to cut two 2.5" squares or 4 triangles. I'll do them later. This is the group I cut yesterday.
I have talked before about the invasive Lily of the Valley in my back garden. Here is one large patch of it. It is choking out other perennials that I have back there.
Here is another large patch of it to the left of the tree on the right. It's also coming up all through the shredded bark mulch that I spread on the path through the garden last year. It's impossible to dig it all out. I have seen a new weed killer advertised that isn't toxic to animals so I may need to check it out. I know I can make my own weed killer but it has salt in it and nothing will grow where you spray a salt mixture.

Tilda already looks soft and cozy. Wow, invasive Lily of the Valley - that is wild! Good luck getting it under control.
I didn't know that Lily of the Valley was an invasive plant!! Too bad as it is a pretty one--but not good that it takes over perennials!!
53 and teeming rains here this morning--we really need the rain as we here in SE CT coastal areas are still in a drought...
Garden guy showed up yesterday noontime and took care of turning my front walk strip abutting the side of our garage into a "stonescape"--River rocks and a few bulbs right now...it looks really nice--hopefully the weeds will stay out...
I am looking forward to getting some large containers and shrubs to line along our front walkway next week...that will dress it up a bit as it is rather "spare" looking right now...

A nice problem to have - I wish I could grow Lily of the Valley!
I have that problem with Lily of the Valley too. I spent a lot of time digging it out last year and now it's all back again. I since read that disturbing the roots makes it more vigorous. I'd like to spray it but I don't want to kill the surrounding Hostas. Let me know if your new weed killer works.
You are making good progress on the binding :) The colors you’ve been cutting are beautiful, saturated jewelry tones. We are battling a side yard infestation of Rose of Sharon trees. They come up everywhere.
Nice Saturday post Wanda ~ your die cut rectangles are as ‘exuberant’ as ever. I did not know Lily of the Valley was so invasive also, until last year when you mentioned it. And with two big patches of it yet I can see it’s going to be a chore to get rid of it.
You might try putting down cardboard (like flattened boxes) with mulch on top to discourage the lily of the valley, instead of weed killer. Its worked for me for all kind of invasive, without working with toxins (I don't believe the hype about not being dangerous to animals, these things work up the food chain).

Lily of the Valley can be invasive but luckily where I have it I didn't mind it spreading a bit. You must be about done with the Tilda binding now
