Cutting. hand sewing..................

I pulled out these 3 dies to start cutting a pile of batiks.  They are all pieces less than 1/4 yard wide, most between 3 and 6" wide

I pressed this pile of strips a couple weeks ago so it was time to do the cutting.  I'm doing 1 hour a day and have worked on it on 3 days so far.

There are 4 pieces of most of the fabrics and only 2 of a few.  These will be worked onto the trays of pieces that have been cut over several years.  As soon as the pile of fabric is all cut, I will start designing the next colorwash.

I worked on the binding's hand stitching for awhile last night.  I finished the short side I started the night before and got about 15" finished on one long side.  There is no hurry on this one, a little each night and eventually it will be done.

I ventured out yesterday and cut the flower stalks off one more Sedum plant.  One more left to clean up and raking of that flower bed is needed.  We are going to have a couple nights below freezing so I'll wait a few more days.

lovely batiks but no surprise there...wow the cutter makes short work of that task...

You will make quick work cutting up those strips and turning them into usable pieces!

I do so love the fabrics of that piece you are binding. We are supposed to be in the mid 30s tonight and tomorrow night - winter's last hurrah here!

We are supposed to get some freezing temperatures as well. I’m hoping our yellow magnolia holds off blooming as last year’s late freeze did in most of its blooms. We didn’t realize it was a flowering tree the first two years we lived as it must have been new shortly before we bought the house. Nice surprise. Will enjoy watching your color wash tops come together!

Great to get so much cutting done, Wanda--;))))
slow stitching on that pretty binding must be so relaxing. Last night I awoke--sleeplessness again--and sat and finished my 4th Blues block's quilting. Two more to go...
43 here this gray and rainy morning...good news is my daughter will come down for lunch with us...it will be great to catch up with her;)))
Hugs, Julierose

Again - what a handsome binding choice! What a lot of possibilities in those rows of rectangles.

sometimes it is good to just get some cutting done and then it is ready for a project. Northern Arkansas might get a little snow tonight and we might get a freeze

Love your ability to work on this, then that, and do prep work on something else so you can move several projects on at once. A little bit or a lot at a time!
Delicious batiks!

Hugs!

I like your approach to this. Very methodical. I have yet to try die cutting. It looks so satisfying.
