17 Arboretum blocks............

There is some minor trimming after assembling the Arboretum block.  I finished 6 more blocks yesterday.  I have 8 more backgrounds cut and 4 more colors of Aboriginal dots for the trees.

I haven't decided how big this quilt will be.  I think when I am tired of making the blocks I'll figure that out.  I'll be thinking  about what color backgrounds to cut next and I think I have enough of the tree strips cut for whatever size I decide.

If you missed where I started working on these blocks and want more info on the quilt check out this post.

I love the variety of branches you are making. They look terrific right now.

I like these - I assume you are making the pieces the sizes you want putting in as many "branches" as you want to. Nice having a variety like what I see so far

You’re creating quite a unique forest o trees. Its fun to see the variety you’re adding for each post. Not to mention the fabulous fabrics you always use.

I like what you are creating. If you turn this into a wall hanging or a quilt top, either way it will be gorgeous!

Are you pressing all the seams open? I bought this kit for myself last year and the idea of pressing all those seams open is stopping me from getting started on it.

Love this pattern - it has been on my TO DO list for a while now but still not started. I've made improv trees like this before and really enjoy the process. You are off to a great start.

Interesting. You might like to make them more complex, like so

I note that the original pattern was paper-pieced, so, not terribly interesting

These blocks are so much fun! I was thinking that they might also look good framed.

Lovely version of thee tree blocks. I think their ultimate origin is an English quilt artist Helen Howes who has made 1000 + tree quilts and pieces and yes that is 3 zeros!
She taught a workshop here in Canterbury some years ago and I used mine on a bag.
