Here is the HO HUM strata from the Kaffe Fassett fabrics. It's ok, but not very interesting. And then.....just like magic, when the strata is cut and moved look at the beauty. I am really loving this one, but I have another planned already from Kaffe fabrics.
Here are some of the leaves I scanned 2 years ago. When they are printed on the inkjet fabric they look just as real.

I'd hardly call that collection of Kaffe ho-hum, but you're right -- it looks even better cut up and shifted. I love the fall colors with a spark of blue! OK, I admit I'm partial to Kaffe fabrics too.
AMAZING MAGIC ! Those rich colors just explode. Great way to begin the week.

Thank you for showing those leaves. Your blog has inspired me in so many ways.
I actually like the ho humm strata, go figure. But I also like looking at it on rocks, so, guess I'm a rock geek.
Its hard to believe that is the same fabric. Its really shocking,i am loving it to. Wig.
I have never made a TAW quilt. It is amazing how it is transformed once it is moved.
The leaves are wonderful
Wow, that's a nice looking around the world! I agree, the color combination really comes into its own when it is put into the pattern.
The leaves are gorgeous. I am going to have to try that.
I also like the strata in the strips and don't find it dull at all for the same rock reason as Vicky. The transformation of it is equally exciting!
