The basting was finished a week ago and I finally got around to the quilting on this colorwash. It is designed with 1.5" x 3" rectangles. It took 3 hours to complete the ditch quilting and had 5 colors of thread used. I'll look for a binding fabric today and maybe squeak in one finish this month.
I sent 2 quilts with my longarm friend to be quilted for some February finishes. They are a couple of my favorites.
It was 45 degrees yesterday and will maybe be 50 on Thursday and again on Sunday. Quite a change from our subzero temperatures. The neighbor kids were out riding their bikes in the afternoon after school.

WOW--what a beautiful color wash you've just quilted! I'll bet it's even prettier in person...;)))
35 here this morning.
I did a bit of quilting on my block and I am trying to settle down the little poufs that appeared after I couched the sari ribbon circle . I think I may have couched too tightly...we shall see how it goes...hugs, Julierose
will be a pretty finish indeed...that's my chore today...baste
The colorwash piece is very pretty! Yesterday here it got up to 35 but the wind was howling so that made it cold to be outside. The sunshine we have been having has been nice.
I love seeing your colorwash quilts. Do you still teach the class?
What kind of threads did you use on this project. Regular cotton or some of the tinted "invisible" threads?
Gorgeous colors -- what a day brightener!
No one else creates a colorwash like you do. Another one just as awesome as the last one. Another Extraordinary Beauty. Plus to stitch it in 3 hours is quite a feat .
that is a pretty wall hanging. It is always nice to see kids riding bikes and know it has warmed up a bit - the first week of February here will be close to 70 so they say - I will believe it when I see it but my row of earliest daffodils are all about 1-2 inches tall now so warmer weather is coming
Wanda, it is just absolutely gorgeous- the clear colors and value gradation!
What a glorious quilt you've made and have nearly finished!!!! It just goes to show how narrow scraps can become part of a wonderful quilt.
It's to be 64*F here today and perhaps our tiny bits of lingering snow will melt at last.
Hugs!
Wanda, in which state are you? When an early post mentioned growing hostas, my mom and wondered if you might be in IN?
