At the end of 2019 I did some machine embroidery, redwork children on Kona snow fabric. I have been thinking about the quilt I need to make and have gone back and forth between a pieced sashing or an alternating block.
Meanwhile I have been collecting fabrics to use in the quilt. This will be a priority project for me so I need to come to a decision on the design soon.
Yesterday was a family day spending time with my east coast family, meeting my grandson's new wife for the first time. We were joined by some local family at the restaurant last evening. More good memories for me.

Can't go wrong with reds & whites! It's going to be a beautiful quilt !
Looking forward to what you are going to do and then how it will be quilted. I have a few hand embroidered blocks that need to become a quilt.
That's a pretty selection of red and white prints. It sounds like you have had an extended holiday season this year.
Beautiful red and white fabrics - it will be interesting to see which direction you go with this project. No matter, it will be stunning I'm sure.
I imagine your next couple days will be busy with a funeral coming up - but it does give you a chance to visit with family that you do not see often. The red work is pretty
Gorgeous machine embroidery blocks, Wanda--Love the redwork!! I am --s l o w l y-- finishing the final border row of x's on my redwork...one small hoop's worth per day...Did you own an embroidery machine? And did you enjoy it? I've never even seen one in action...always wondered...
27 this morning and sunny with windchill of 21!! I walked my 20 minutes on tread-"millie" this morning...;))) hope to get back on later for another 20...
hugs for a great weekend enjoy the family visit Julierose
I agree with Julierose… your machine embroidery is fascinating . So detailed for a machine to create each design. And so happy to see you will use them in a quilt. They really inspire me to get my machine out and play with it. But I wish you were here to help me get started again. 😉 it’s been years since I’ve used it. Your selection of prints are perfect for this new quilt top.
Amazing red-work machine embroidery! How does that work by machine? Will have to research. Long ago I did red-work by hand on two pillow shams for my mother. Love the red/white fabrics you've collected for the quilt. I vote alternate block!
How nice your family has grown by one charming bride!
Hugs!
The redwork is certain not your usual genre! The red/white prints will show off the embroidery beautifully.
