I needed some mindless therapy sewing after working on other things all day yesterday. I pulled batik 2.5" strips out of my cut stash. I started cutting these stash strips in 2009 and add to it on a regular basis. I made a 16 patch quilt top in these colors in 2013 and traded it as payment for a bill. I always loved it and thought I might try to recreate it.
Last night I got 24 sets of 2 strips sewn together. This will only make 48 blocks and the minimum I need is 63 blocks. Here is the post with the original quilt top. I will probably save the sewing of the 16 patch blocks for the beginning of the fall shows on TV. I think that will be at least another week for some of the shows. Meanwhile I need to cut some specific color strips to finish up the sewing of the rest of the sets of 2 strips.

Ooh, I love this for a fall project! I have a couple of batik jelly rolls that would be perfect for this mindless therapy sewing! I enjoy your daily posts.
Those strips are going to make a gorgeous quilt, Wanda!
I love it when you start cutting for a new project. Looking at your link I can see what you are aiming for :)
Mindless stitching is my therapy too. This will be beautiful.
Good for you for making a newer version of the one that was traded away - therapy sewing is THE BEST! (Lucious colors, too)
Love those colors together! Some of my 'mindless sewing"'projects have turned out to be favorites... like the spirit just knows what it wants to do.
Holy cow! Those fabrics are so gorgeous together. As soon as I saw your pile of strips I knew you were making another 16 patch. Gorgeous!
Ah, those fabrics are luscious!
Oh boy, what a grouping of luscious colors. The original is so beautiful.
