First finish for March and a shipment on the way.........

I didn't have a table cleaned off to lay the table runner on, like I ever have a table cleaned off!  It is getting its portrait taken on the design wall.  It is about 18" x 53"

This fabric that I used on the back was a long leftover piece from cutting borders and was exactly the right size.  Binding hand stitched.

Yesterday afternoon the "fixer" at Accuquilt called me and there is a replacement die on the way to me.  Success!! (back story on the die on yesterday's post).

I made 10 more Hattie's choice blocks last night and have the black/white section sewn for 8 more blocks.

I have used up 2 different black batik prints so far so I will be looking through my stash for a third one to add.  I have used 3 different white/gray prints and have a 4th one ready to cut for future blocks.  Click on the photo for a closer view if you want to see the different fabrics.

The waxed Amaryllis is finally blooming.  The sunshine faded out the red but what I really wanted to show was how short it is and that there are 4 more buds to open.

The table runner is lovely! How nice it was to have a piece the right size for the backing. The blocks are coming along quick! I am so glad you got the issue with the die taken care of. I guess they were testing to see if you would just go away, but your persistence paid off! Good for you! That Amaryllis is amazing the way it keeps on blooming.

I am glad that they finally decided to do the right thing. I suspect they saw comments from so many who will likely no longer buy their products that they are thinking of this as "damage control."

Congratulations on your resolution with Accuquilt! Sweet success!
I gave my daughters each a wax based amaryllis. Only 1 bloomed after growing 4 inch and the other has leaves 10 inches tall but no bloom insight. Both purchased well before Christmas at the same time as the 2 additional plants I kept with both grew and had multiple blooms. One daughter asked if she had to do anything because she’s a plant killer and I assured her she would succeed. You just never know!

What a pretty table runner--that amaryllis is so neat--the flowers won't fall over either--I have found the long stalked ones always are floppy...
Nice first finish--hugs, julierose

Yessss! Success with Accuquilt! What sweet satisfaction.
I bought a waxed Amaryllis in December and the stalks were all very short like yours. I had 2 stalks with four blooms on each. The last 4 blooms were rather wimpy.

that is great that accuquilt is replacing the die - in a way I am surprised but maybe they finally checked your blog out and saw how you have always supported them?

Pretty tablerunner. I'm pleased you are getting a replacement die.

I'm glad a new die is on the way, but I think I'll hold the "yeehaa!" until it's received and tried out. I suspect they had 2nd thoughts about doing bad to a long time user and unpaid promoter of their product after seeing the comments here.

After reading your experience, I now know to make a special envelope for those receipts and to try the dies as soon as I get them home - a good use for some of those "what was I thinking" or low quality fabrics in the stash.

Your new blocks are looking good! That amaryllis certainly put on quite a show for you.

Awesome news! I can’t wait to see what you make with the correct die. I have learnt so much from you over the years. Always love your choice of fabrics and colors.

Glad the die is on the way....
But
I think they should have taken care of it form the beginning!
What about the mass of us that don't have a blog or do "social media"?

Are we out in the cold with sh#@&y service?

Thank you for posting the original story and the follow up.

I'm guessing it was a combination of your persistence and the growing evidence that other consumers were watching that got the company to make things right. It shouldn't have taken that much effort and I hope others will take caution in dealing with them.

Sorry Accuquilt, but for me the damage is already done. This could have been a story about great customer service from a company that replaced a die for a customer who didn't have a receipt and the seller was out of business instead of one about a business that caved because of the loss of endorsement and threat to sales revenue. How much has this story cost your reputation? Far more than $40 I think!

Yay! So glad you shared the story and got others involved. Think of all the others who were in the same predicament and felt alone in all this. Quilt is coming along great. Blooms are always nice in March.

Beautiful blocks and a lovely bloom! I'm glad you got your problem with Accuquilt resolved - but I agree with Donna - the damage is already done. I have several of their dies - and will continue to think long hard before I ever buy another one - ;))

oops - make that "and will continue to think long AND hard before I ever buy another one" - ;))

Your post today shouts spring today and hope it feels like it there also. Table runner is so fresh and bright and backing glows with splashes of gold sun. And Hatties Choice keeps growing and glowing also, I'm really taken by that design.

Amaryllis is like the little engine that could... Spilling out 4 more blossoms after the first go round ! That did it .... I'm going to get one next year.

I sincerely hope Accuquilt took your issue seriously and will work hard to live up to their name.

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that you're getting a new die!! Hattie's Choice is turning out beautifully.

Yay! Glad you're getting a new die! (I hope it's the correct one this time, LOL!) But, a happy customer is the best advertising might not apply here after all they put you through. Why should a customer go through all that. Who's to say they won't do it again to someone else? Am I just a pessimist?

I do love Hattie's Choice. I think it is a happy block where they go "yippee!" - I feel the same about Shoo Fly blocks - also a happy yippee type of pattern!
Glad your new die is on the way.
