What a mess............

This is the Kaffe Fassett fabric corner in my basement.  I went down to look for a first border for the bow tie quilt and this mess greets me.  I tend to not put pieces back when I am done cutting from them but instead pile them on the lids of the boxes.  This is 8 of the 9 boxes of Kaffe fabric.  Brandon and Philip reside on the other side of this section.  The 9th box of Kaffe is the one I showed the last 2 days but you only saw half of the contents.  I have a list in each box with the numbers of the fabrics in it.  He numbered them on the selvage all but one year.  Time to tidy up.

That is one of the main reasons I moved from storing fabric in tubs... Putting away was/is always more difficult than getting out. Of course, my stash is considerably smaller than yours!!! I also don't accomplish nearly as much making as you do either!!!

WOW--that is a lot of KF fabrics--nice collection!
I know you probably don't want to hear this, but I am happy to find that someone else has that habit of not putting fabric back after cutting some..my shelves of (semi!) folded fabrics are a real "tip" mostly hahaha;)))
Thanks for sharing ...hugs on a lovely Saturday Julierose

You are still much more organized than I could ever be. With lots more fabrics. Still looks good to me:)

Wow, I think I only have a handful of Kaffe fabrics but some of these are gorgeous. Every so often I just have to take the time to straighten my fabric up on the shelves. I wish all fabric manufacturers and desigers would put an identifying name or number on the selvage of all fabrics. Would make life so much easier to find it again. I've suggested that to Moda and they acknowledged the comment but I've yet to see it appear.

It looks fairly organized to me. You should see my stash! And it is much smaller than yours.

How many thousands of yards of fabric do you think you have in your stash?

it would be fun to see photos of all of your stash. If this is just the KAFFE portion, and Philip and Brandon are elsewhere, it scares me just a little!!!

I thought I fixed my iPad...Well ~ NOT... Yesterday I left a comment using my iPad again the day after I thought I fixed it. Wouldn't you know it would not let me go any further than my email address. I am so disgusted with Google !

Anyway I truly love pastels, yesterdays collection is so pretty, especially the decorative cabbage piece right on the very top.

"Your mess" in the corner won't take long to tidy up... Just a few pieces to put away and I bet its done already. I should email you my mess, to show you what a REAL MESS is.

WOW. Do you have a swatch book to remember all these? Presuming you have used some of the out of print fabrics completely.

You can really lift those big bins? Wow. I would have to go much smaller, especially when they are on shelves taller than me. I love the idea of them, but they have to be difficult to maneuver.

There is some KF Collective stash enhancement happening here (much of it due later this month and then spring of next year). AND he has a new book due out in the spring (just got the pre-order notice from Amazon). My stash is nothing compared to yours but it does keep me happy. Have fun restocking and refolding yours!

I tend to put the fabrics I've cut from in a tub by my cutting table but inevitably I then have to spend ages sorting whole lot, I tell myself to put away when used but never do! You have a great collection of Kaffe fabrics in those boxes.
