A quilt top!!............

My view of the quilt top as I walk into my studio.

I couldn't pin it any higher so my sewing cabinet gets into the photo too.  It is 63" x 76.5".  I think I could have cut the first border a half inch narrower but it is going to stay the way it is. I made the top and bottom outer borders 1" wider than the side borders.

Bottom right close up.  You can see the inset of the small bow ties more clearly here.

I decided I wanted some of the Kaffe Fassett fabric out on the shelves instead if in the big boxes.  I remembered I had a bunch of these empty plastic crates that I bought about 40 years ago.  I think I have 2 more that have black and whites in them that can be emptied and brought over to this corner.

The finished product looks terrific! It would never have occurred to me to make the borders different sizes but obviously this is a great idea.

Wanda, this is just one of those instant classic but innovative wonders that once in a while you stumble across. It is truly a signature quilt. Reorganizing fabric is tedious, but looks like it will be worth it.

The borders are spot on! The fabric choices and the size are perfect for this quilt! This is a quilt Kaffe wished he designed! Bravo!

Perfect finish! (No surprise.) Those crates are interesting; do you remember where you got them?

The quilt is lovely but what draws my attention is all of that Kaffe fabric just waiting to be petted! Have fun!

This quilt would be gorgeous if all bow ties were same size, but those little ones make my brain say "oohh what's that?" every time I look at it. In other words, interesting in addition to gorgeous.

Is there a reason you want to use the crates instead of fabrics stacked right on the shelves? Easier to grab and take elsewhere to play? Easier to keep neat on the shelves?

Gorgeous finish! That white and black inner border really makes the quilt in my opinion.

This quilt kinda reminds me of a Piccaso painting. Your sections of the smaller blocks, makes us do a double take and then again can see the beauty of the entire creation. As always your talent continues to live up to your Exuberant Color logo. The borders are like the frosting on the cake. fantastic designing Wanda.

Love your finished top! I love how those little blocks add additional spark to the quilt. I never would have thought to add them so it's wonderful to watch you put your quilts together. I learn so much!

Out in the open is so much more inspiring that inside a tote box. Your bow ties top is fabulous.

You continue to blow me away. I wasn't so sure about the design or the fabrics along the way, but to see it finished is so amazing - it's just stunning. Keep up the good work, you are such an inspiration.
