Finally quilting............

I am lagging way behind on my finishing this year.  Last night I finally quilted this cool color colorwash wallhanging.

Now I need to trim it and choose a binding fabric.  Since this one has regular quilting cottons, batiks, African, and Kaffe Fassett fabrics I don't really have to put a batik binding on it. It is so much easier to hand stitch regular quilting cottons than batiks.

This is one of my favorites! I love the sensitive way you have mixed all the different types of fabric, they all are playing together so well.

Pretty piece! I have been spending so much time working in the yard that my production and finishes have gone down. I am glad to get the yard cleaned up though. I figure I can sew once it gets cold out.

I find it difficult to "quilt in the ditch"--any tips?? I am not a fan of heavily quilted pieces,
I do like this piece a lot; your color washes are so lovely

OMG Wanda, don't give it another thought that you are "lagging behind" . Your year has been full and you've entertained us with your daily blog to prove it. Your cool Colorwash really is cool, blue is my absolutely favorite color. As always this cool Colorwash is another beauty

Your talent of mixing color and fabric always amazes me. It's a true gift and I love that you share it with us. This quilt is gorgeous it's beyond my small vocabulary . . . so I'll just have to stick with "gorgeous" :)

This one is especially pretty - I love it! And I agree about needling batiks vs. cottons.

I was just telling myself today that I need to focus on my quilting and finishing for the remainder of the year.

Well I didn't plan to make another colorwash, but an all cool one or an all warm one... I might have to try one!

Neat idea to use a mix of different fabrics - I would never have thought of doing this.
