Backing fabric maybe...........

I spent a lot of time yesterday preparing for my last live broadcast today for the Colorwash360 online class.  In between gathering things and writing notes I looked through fabrics for the back of Downtown.  This is one of Hoffman's earliest batiks and I have enough of it for the back.
Here is a distance view of it by the quilt top.

A close up shows that the lightest color has a turquoise tinge to it.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it.

I was looking out at my bird feeders and see my little raider is here again stealing birdseed.  I think when you enlarge the photo you might see his chipmunk cheek puffed out full of seed.

Here is another view.  He just kept circling the seed tube and stealing like it belonged to him.

This is the early Peonies, dark red.  The bud stalks have really grown tall.

The Bleeding Heart plant that my sister in law gave to me is getting bigger every year.  This is the first bunch of blooms.

That checkered fabric is going to make a fun back for that quilt. Crazy chipmunks!

the checkerboard fabric is going to work out great with that piece - it looks like it was made for it!!

Great photos of the chipmunk in action -- my mother's yard in MI had SO many issues with their burrowing and such. That batik will make a great back for Downtown.

Another great piece of fabric pulled from your stash ! Seems like yesterday you began your second Colorwash class, hope you share their works with us again.

I did enlarge the chipmunk and laughed at how he engorged his cheeks with the bird seed. He will just bury his bounty and go back for more. Our neighbor's have cats and we rarely see a chipmunk.

That's a great backing choice for that top.

The chipmunk certainly has enough food stuffed in his pouches to keep him well fed for quite a while. Hope you'll post a shot of the paeony blooms when they open.

Dare I say it? Have you considered a Kaffe floral on the back and then title the quilt “Windows to the Garden”. It's a very graphic design and would look so good with a soft, colorful, flowing back. This is the first time in the many years I’ve shared your life that I’ve disagreed with your backing choice.
