April 2022 monthly recap.............

2 finishes for the month.  The Spring Pastel 16 patch is 63" x 79" and the Economy Block quilt is 64" x 80".  The Economy block was fun because it is made of all 6" components, center square, quarter square triangles and half square triangles.  I used a combination of Studio and GO dies to cut the pieces.

The quilt top on the left is from 30 years ago and just needed side borders to make the proportion a little better.  It is 38.5" x 54" so it will take just one width of fabric for the back.  It will probably be the first finish in May.  The mottled batiks 16 patch is 56" x 72".  The Triangles Times Four quilt top was finished last night.  I like the structure of the grid of 2", 3", 4" and 6" triangles but also like unpredictability of the design because of the value changes.  It is 54" x 72".

Most of the batik fabrics used in this quilt top were uglies, muddy prints, or just plain strange colors.  The all over look however is nice.  There are only a few pretty batiks that can claim to be the stars in this one.  The design is the real star.

I have some muddy prints in my stash that I need to deal with too. The economy block piece with its black and white sashing so fits the name of your blog. It's beautiful!

I love your triangles times four. It just sparkles. Batiks are my favorite fabric.
