It seems like I should get so much more than this sewn in a day.....but this is all that got done yesterday.
There was a tiny scrap with this guy on it that worked perfect for a one inch finished square.
I'm trying to work some zebra prints into these blocks.
The next one is laid out ready to sew. This one has some fabrics from the 1980s in it. The solid is a putty color.
The butterflies don't seem to mind that the coneflowers are a faded pink this year.

I just love the postage stamps! It takes a long time to sew one of those blocks. Teo a day would be a miracle for me.
The postage stamp blocks are coming along nicely. I haven't seen many butterflies in my yard/garden.
These are so fun.
Your solid putty fabric is awesome with your prints ! If you had said you were going to use a putty solid for one of your postage stamp blocks, I would have doubted your chose. But seeing is believing, it is my favorite block so far.
Love those monarch butterflies... JJM
I am a great admirer of butterflies- your photos are perfect! And so are the fun little block surprises.
The colorful scraps really show up against the putty solid. Beautiful butterflies!
I really like all these blocks with solids and prints you’ve been making. I’m going to put a project like that in my list of things to do! I’ve just discovered that I have a lot more solids than I thought I did! I had to bring a bunch for a class I was taking at Sisters, and was very surprised how extensive my stash was when I got into it to select what I wanted to bring. I’ve been storing them on a lover shelf, and it was deeper than I realized, Also, I guess I had put things down there without really bending down to see what was already there! But it was a nice surprise.
The fussy cutting does result in some beautiful squares!
