I decided to make a few of the framed 9 patch blocks yesterday. I wanted to do one of the one way design fabrics to see if I was happy with all of the pieces cut from one crosswise strip or did I need to cut the side border strips on the lengthwise grain. I think I'm fine with the way this turned out. Maybe all one way designs won't work this well but this one is okay.
I sewed the bottom right postage stamp block plus all of the blocks below it yesterday.
It was too hot and humid to work outside. We got some rain late in the afternoon but we need more. This summer is a lot like the summer of 2012 which is the last time we had 100 degree days. It sounds like it might be close to that on Friday.
I laid out the next postage stamp block. I need to cut some more squares now before I can make any more blocks.
I have had this cute little sheep print for a long time.

Our temperatures here in Charlotte will be in the 90's for the next couple of weeks with only a tiny chance of rain. I am so over this heat and I still have to mow my yard. Too wet in the mornings with dew and by the time it cools off enough in the evenings, it's my bedtime! lol
I probably have some scraps of that sheep fabric in my scrap bins! I remember making some pillows for a friend who was into sheep prints.
I didn't work in the yard at all this weekend. I need to deadhead my Shasta daisies again.
Love the zebra print! I like the bright colors you are using for your postage stamps. The solids I have planned to use are quieter.
Fun sheep -- I need to watch for those kinds of fussy-cuttable scraps while I'm cutting my squares.
The zebra fabric is so fun. Those postage stamp blocks look great.
Such a Happy Monday post ! I have never seen so many happy delightful prints. Love them all. Your zipper block with the dark red or burgundy solid with the daisies ! Just jump off the screen.

Your postage stamp blocks are multiplying slowly but surely and looking good, I'd love to make one but don't think I could handle the 1" finished squares. Perhaps if they 2" but then they really would be too large and not have the same effect.
Gosh, that zebra block is adorable! All the projects are coming along so nicely and so colorful too! I think it’s hot everywhere! We’re in the high 90’s all week here in St. Augustine, FL., with humidity to match. We worked in the yard some yesterday and I was soaking within 10 minutes of weeding. Thank goodness for air conditioners!
I so love the postage stamp blocks!
