All of the rows are sewn but I haven't finished trimming the right side. I need to take it down to the basement to my big table for that. After I press it, it will become clearer how the trimming needs to be done.
My other project is trying to find a binding fabric for this quilt. Here you can see the backing fabric which has little shots of green in addition to the red and yellow.
I have a lot of pieces of batik that are between 1/4 and 1/2 yard so some of them are automatically eliminated. This photo shows the fabric in the photo above along the edge of the quilt.
This one is a rose color that I thought might work.
This one is more of a neutral gray blue and burgundy leafy print.
This one is a goldy caramel color. The stripe at the edge of the quilt has a lot of pink as well as the blue.
This one is a little lighter caramel color. I need to see them in daylight before I can decide if any of them will work.
Here is the whole quilt; the top was made in 2020.

All lovely choices--I like the rose color one..;))) for this beauty. Such a pretty pattern in the colors you've chosen Wanda.
It's raining here this morning and 41 degrees; predicted temps are going to be a lot lower tomorrow I guess. Back into the "freezer" for a few days again...hugs, Julierose
Very cool quilt Wanda! I also like the pink for the binding.
I also like the pink. Can you tell me did you use accuquilt die to cut the fish? or triangles in the last batik quilt?
I read that as "godly" caramel color and wondered if you meant God-awful or Heaven-sent! Lovely quilt that deserves to be finished.
I had to look and look again to confirm that the block is Hunter's Star. The arrangement is wonderfully unusual. Actually just about any binding will go, but my initial thought is pink/red.
I love your first quilt, what do you call it? And how pretty is that batik quilt and how much fun to choose just the right binding!
I'm rather drawn to the rose fabric, but like you said, seeing it in better light will help with the decision.
I like binding #3 but don't know if it goes with the backing fabric enough. Pretty quilt!
Both quilts are wonderful color displays. They are a joy to keep looking at.
Fun post today Wanda with two ‘exuberant’ quilt tops to see plus your choices for a binding. I know you will select the best binding for sure.
Any of those fabrics would work for the binding. The top has about every color in it so it's it is a matter of what pleases you.
Well done in getting the piano key quilt ready for pressing, then trimming!
I think the rose binding will make the quilt sing more than the other colors, but no choice will be wrong!
Rain is headed our way and it's again 70*F.
Hugs!
Lovely, vibrant colors!
I like the pink. Usually I just use whatever fabric I have enuf of. Sometimes it works, sometimes not but my quilts are not like yours so it doesn't matter. Really nice pattern.
Loving this new scrappy strippy quilt! What a great use for beloved scraps!
I hope that you are not getting tire of hearing me say this, but girl, you absolutely amaze me with the way you work with color and fabric. Bravo!!!
I think any of those binding choices will work. I'm a little partial to the gray/blue. The quilt is beautiful!
