2 quilts back home..............

I got 2 quilts back from my longarm quilter friend so I'll be looking for binding fabric soon.

While she was here she helped me slide the bag off my new 30 yard roll of batting and get it up on the tables.  Now I can cut batting for a few more quilts.

I spent a couple hours choosing and grouping Tilda fabrics for her Whimsey quilt pattern.  Then I made notes for each group with what I need to cut for that quilt plus 2 others.  There has to be a 16 patch quilt made from these fabrics too.  I didn't get around to pressing any of the creases out or any cutting.

Meanwhile I continue to sew strip sets.

My 2 grandsons will turn 35 this year, one of them today and the other a month from now.

Oh, all the delicious Tilda fabrics!! FUN! Glad Robin was able to help you get your new roll of batting on the table. They are unwieldy and heavy. Keep warm.

Those fabrics are gorgeous! I had to click on the photo to get a very closeup view of them. Sigh. I have bought a few of them but haven’t cut any. I saved the Whimsy quilt pattern and am curious to see how you put the fabrics together. Let the fun/lesson begin! (How much did you buy of each fabric? That’s always a decision….)

Those rolls of batting are nice to have but can be a bear to wrestle around. It looks like you have a good method for dealing with it.

How nice it was to have someone help you get that roll up on the table! They are a lot to handle. My two new rolls are still out in the garage. I will have to wrestle them down some steps, then find a place to store them so for now they are fine in the garage all wrapped up in plastic. Happy birthday to your grandsons!

I'm loving your strip set sewing, I love using KF fabrics this way. I saw the Whimsey pattern after reading this post, very effective and no fussy cutting. I'm about to make a start on my large basket of Tilda ready for my sale at Guild - which to keep and which to sell, I'm now thinking I will keep ones which will work nicely with the pattern! Another squirrel.
