Playing with orphan blocks...........

I took a day off of working on current projects and went through the orphan quilt block box, regular print fabrics. (other boxes are Kaffe and batik)  There are some nice blocks in this box but what I was looking for was small projects.

I found enough blocks to make 2 small pieces which will become table toppers.  The one on the left is 15" square and the one on the right is 12".  I thought maybe I would look for backings and cut batting but decided to just have a relaxing day.

It got up to the mid 40s yesterday.  A week ago we were starting out close to 0 in the morning.  Today we may get up to 50.

A relaxing day often times increases my productivity for a few days afterwards….dont know for sure why maybe it’s like hitting the reset button :). It will be warmer here today as well. Taking my husband in for knee replacement surgery and I’m so thankful there is no snow in the forecast!

Very pretty blocks for your table toppers! Hope you enjoy the "warmth". :D

Your orphan blocks all "go together" so well...they will be great table toppers.;)))
36 here --with warmer temps and the predicted rains tonight we are hoping that most, if not all, of this snow cover will disappear...
Hugs, Julierose

I have a box of orphan blocks in the top of my closet. I have some I need to add to it. We are enjoying a warming, sunny trend this week!

today we will be in the 60's. I have stacks of left over blocks to go through from projects that I do not know if I want to finish - I loved them at one time but do I now to the point that I want to finish or will they just be small pieces for tables?

Looks like you have some fun blocks in your orphan block boxes! It is forecasted to get up to 48 here today; that will feel like a heat wave compared to those single digit temps!

Orphan blocks and Table runners were a pretty site to see. And happy to hear you took some time to catch your breath.

I like the offset effect of the log cabin blocks. I realize that's because you're going to use the nine that you have. Always good to get orphans to new homes.

What a wonderful thing to do on a day of relaxation: looking at your array of orphan blocks and exercising only your imagination!
We're supposed to get to 60*F today! Makes a nice change.

Hugs!
