Same old thing.........

Are you tired of seeing the blocks for this quilt?  I have just 8 more groups of 6 to sew and the rest of the strips will get cut up for log cabin blocks.  This is the group sewn last night, 59 of them.

This is one block from every combination I have sewn since I started on this project.  They are on the wall in the vertical position but I won't have room to build the whole quilt this way.  They will need to be turned sideways.

So that leads me to the question if they would look better horizontal in the finished quilt.  If so, then I could keep building the quilt as is.

Any opinions?

As I promised I went out and took a photo of the first blooming peony.  This is the early one and some others only have small buds so far.

This is my largest tomato plant and I see I didn't get all of the top leaf in the photo.  It has 6 little tomatoes growing on it.

This is the smallest tomato plant sitting next to a potted Coral Bell that  I bought on the last trip to the nursery.  I need to get it planted soon.  I think our rainy spell is over and the ground should be nice and soft for digging.

The white blooming Hardy Geranium is doing fine after being transferred from a pot (where it had been for a year) into the ground.  It will spread nicely and fill in a lot of that area.

I like the blocks better vertically. Beautiful colorwash effect!

I think the vertical placement is the expected look, so horizontal would be the unexpected. How's that for sitting on the fence? :)

I like the blocks set horizontal best, but what if the middle was horizontal with vertical on the outside? The blocks are beautiful, and it's going to be stunning whatever you do.

I'm sure everybody has an opinion, even if they don't comment. I definitely like the vertical better, but would it drive you crazy to have two different stagger point starts instead of just one in the middle? Yours is beautiful with the color groupings as is, too.

I think (?) I like the vertical set up; but it is a difficult choice as they both look so different from each of their perspectives!! The horizontal one looks so much more in the modern realm to me. Good luck deciding;-))
Your plants are coming along really well...
I hope your Memorial Day weekend will be a good one...

Just caught up on your last 4 posts - your flowers/plants are so beautiful. I'm glad you've had the rain you needed, to keep everything fresh and smelling nice and soil that is diggable! :)

I love the horizontal layout! You’ve inspired me to make blocks like these, however mine are scrappy❤️

I prefer the vertical layout, but since you have extra strips cut, you could keep making the blocks and do one vertical and one horizontal. Your plants are looking good. We got some much needed rain, but the heat is returning before I can tackle the weeds and get zinnias and marigolds planted.

I love the color grouping In both directions. I am also a lover of rainbows! You garden is really taking off. Was t so sure last year when you put pavers into the front bed but it is filling in well and I can see both the division of plants and the easy access for wedding. As usual; your quilting and gardening are inspirational!

I like the horizontal just a bit more this morning. It's not as expected as the vertical. But I reserve the right to change my mind.

I like the vertical. It seems to flow along, where the horizontal seems to say "stop". But then it's early in the day.....

I see and feel, Vertical says yes, horizontal says no, to me. But I know you’ll create what feels best to you.

Beautiful peonies, memories of my mom’s long row of peonies all along our property line, is a loving memory for me.

I like the vertical placement best!

Vertical is my preference.
Tomatoes already? Mine aren't even planted yet. We were late starting them this year.
I love that lime green heuchera. There are so many beautiful leaf choices anymore and I want them all! I got a seed mix and am trying to start them from seed but so far not a sprout.

I like the quilt both ways. No help huh. Your plants look so healthy. You are inspiring me to sew more of my blocks too

Never get tired of these blocks! A visual feast. I like the first orientation, but it is your quilt.

I like the horizontal lay out but they both look great.

I honk I prefer the vertical placement, but both look great with those blocks. We’ve had a couple weeks of chilly nights so our tomatoes are late.
