Back at it.................

I finally got this TAW quilted.  It took a few hours to do and I had a problem in one area of it.  All is well now.  It is off the frame and trimmed.

This one if for my bed so it got a big loose meander.  I haven't chosen a binding yet, that will be done today.

Last night was my 3 hour TV night so I designed the sixth Spring Star and got the rows sewn in one direction.  I have several things to press today so I'll get the last seams sewn after pressing.

I also sewed the last 14 African and solid color 16 patches.  These will get pressed too and maybe I'll look for the large prints for the alternate blocks while I'm down in the basement.  It felt good to get back to sewing....the hum of the machine....the therapy.

I LOVE that change of colour on the TAW, the orange through to the green - I would have been happy just to have those colours in a quilt, although the effect wouldn't be the same I know. Good to read you are enjoying the 'hum of the machine' - it doesn't take much to make us happy, right! :)

Beautiful quilting on your big quilt piece...you've kept busy for sure. I am still strip piecing my Courthouse Steps blocks--spent yesterday cutting strips...so today may be able to sew...
Stay safe Julierose

Yes - the hum of the machine is my steadiness that is so lacking in the outside world these days with the open v closed, mask v no mask, well v not well, etc. etc. I'm so grateful I have projects to work on and a stash to shop from. Your TAW is spectacular - happy hunting for the binding fabric.

Thanks to the plethora of quilting you accomplished yesterday, I did double the seaming on a quilt top that I planned to do today. Yippee! You created a real incentive to stick at it! Thanks. Marnie

So glad you’re keeping that gorgeous TAW quilt for your bed! I just love it and the fabric you chose for the back! What quilt do you have on your bed now and what will you do with it?
Do you sleep under the quilts or are they just covers during the day? Just curious. I sleep under mine which make them really special to me. And I currently have three that I use interchangeably. Occasionally, when it’s cold, I’ll use two at the same time. I also have a couple of quilts which are larger which I use when couples visit and I let them use my bed room. I have a queen bed and used to share it with my husband. At that time with used larger quilts, but when I sleep alone, I prefer a smaller quilt, which is more like a full and really too small for the bed.
