Quilt top completed...............

I started this quilt top in 2010 (yes, 10 years ago), one of a series of Kaffe charm quilts.  Every triangle is a different fabric.  There are some repeats of pattern but in different colors.  There are 384 triangles and one border fabric for 385 different fabrics.  The Kaffe prints date all the way back to the beginning of his designs.  In 2010 it was one row shorter in length and that always bugged me because it wasn't a nicely proportioned rectangle so in 2016 I added another row of the squares on point so it measured 66" X 88".  I knew I wanted to add a border and in January of 2017 I chose the border fabric and ordered enough to make it happen....and then it took me 3 more years to cut it and sew it on.  What held that up was the corners of the border.  I knew I didn't want to miter them with this irregular stripe but thought maybe I wanted to have a square of 2 triangles in the corners.  I finally decided to finish it the way I like it best.  It is now 77" x 99".   Note to myself for future projects:  follow my intuition and get it done.

I finally started my newest TV watching sewing.

I got 118 pairs sewn last night and I need 432 so I'm a little over a fourth done.  I need 36 different prints in each block so I can't start the designing yet.

I love to click on the picture so the whole quilt fills my desktop monitor. Then I can gaze on how wonderful all the colors are and how they work together and how each fabric is so different. Enjoyable eye candy for breakfast this mornning.
You have enough experience that when you follow your intuition it is right. Sometimes, when I follow mine and later look back, I don't know what in the world I was thinking.

so many wonderful bright fabrics - I bet you are glad to have this ten year project at this point - I need to get one of my old ones out and decide if I am going to work on it or decide what to do with it

I like the way the striped border contrasts with the center. Such a pretty top! Sometimes we have to mull over things before we can finish a top.

Your 10 year old quilt is timeless ! It truly shouts FUN and HAPPINESS. So glad you puled this one out of your archives to finish. It's too beautiful to be sitting in wait.

Very pretty. The on point is very nice. I may have to try something like yours but mine will end up with many repeats. Love the striped border.

I love the effect of the stripe on that border.

Such a beautiful colourful quilt top! My idea of a perfect scrappy quilt - especially when made with KF fabrics!
