this week has been rain off and on - last week dry - today we have had storms since 1:30 which seem to keep me awake more than let me sleep so I'm up super early looking at blogs already - this is going to be a long day

We’ve had rain a great deal too. Fall is here with one tree losing leaves already.
I find myself starting on the long end of a quilt (when binding) so that I am almost done when I finish a short end. Somehow that makes me feel better! You are right - batiks (even with those needles you recommended) are a beating. I've held off hand-binding all summer due to our Texas heat. I have one ready now that I'll start in a couple of weeks - when the temps drop back into the 90s!
Your are making good progress on that binding. Both blocks turned out nice even though the frog lost his head. LOL!!!
Light rain started here yesterday afternoon and continues. I need to have the ground nice and soft so I can maybe pull those weeds.
We had 1.75" from yesterday's storm. I was going to mow yesterday but obviously that plan changed!

I have laugh at your rain gage amounts you've mentioned in the past. And today "Nann" they got 1.75 " in one day ! If we get a tenth of an inch it hits the local weather news . (^._.^)

I've been stalled on the postage stamp project but think I've found a way to do something a bit different with the squares. Not any time soon, but perhaps starting early next year. I agree that batiks are hard to needle when binding.
Love your quilt. I do so many QOV quilts that I forget there are so many options for others. Even though binding seems slow going it gives us dream/design quiet time. Happy binding!
