Snow pictures

I just came in from shoveling. I put a yardstick in the snow on the driveway and it is 7.5" deep just since midnight last night. It is still snowing but not as hard as earlier this morning.

Here is the snow from the last 2 days piled on the branch my brother cut off for me.
The view from my kitchen sink window.
Here are the big tree branches in my back yard. I showed them a few days ago and you could still see the biggest part. Not any more.
This snow is light and fluffy like Ivory flakes soap. This is a sedum flower head.
This is the sedum flowers in my front yard. They are looking more like mushrooms with every snowfall.Jack Frost is back at his favorite window.
I usually can't get a picture of it snowing but the flakes/puffs were so big this morning they showed up. These are coneflower seed heads, a little over an inch across with their fluffy hairdo.
Here is a group of coneflower seed heads.

The squirrel proof bird feeder has a snow dome too.
I hope you enjoyed a little of my clean white world this morning. It will get messed up soon enough.

This is just how I like my snow.......in pictures and not near MY house!!! Do you mind, though, if I save a few of your photos for our winter photo file? We like to print seasonal photos to hang around the house and change them out every month or two.

Wonderful photos of your snow! I am a new blogger and am so enjoying your blogs. I have just made some notes for your super double four patch quilt! Thanks for your generosity in sharing your passions!

Beautiful pictures! Especially the close-ups of the fluffy hairdo and sedum. White is nice for a change, but I don't mind if it goes away in time.

My verification word is "winta" which sounds like winter, doesn't it? How does the program know... :-)

WHAT A WINTER YOU ARE HAVING ~ Chicago's weather made the Today Show this morn. And your snow made The 'EXUBERANT COLOR' posts. (*._,*) YOU captued the beauty of those ADDITONAL 7.5". Enjoyed your descriptions~ like: 'Ivory snow flakes' on the Seedum and 'fluffy hairdo' on the coneflowers.

You've had more snow than we have for sure! It's really pretty but I just wish it didn't have to be quite so cold.

The next few days will be spent indoors -- with wind chill values of -25 to -30C, there is no way I'm going out there!
Stay warm!

i'm so envious of your snow...in my mind if it's going to be cold, there should be snow. that way i can ski and sled. this bone chilling cold and no snow is just depressing. i love the cobblestones quilt btw.

Beautiful photos. I'm beginning to not believe in global warming this winter!

My sister lives roughly 4 hours north of you (in Michigan) and they have also had record snowfall this year with 50" in December alone!

The people here are complaining about the cold (daytime in the 40's, overnight in the 20's) ~ I keep showing them your photos but they still don't GET IT... you don't have to shovel cold air!

Beautiful photos ~ hope your fingers didn't get too cold while you were taking them!

Your pictures are fantastic. I just heard the weather and we are definitely going to be getting your snowstorm. They are calling for up to 5 inches. They say it is going to be very powdery too. That is just what yours looks like.

My yardstick shows 18 inches today. That is 18inches too much!! I am too tired to blog after working in this all day, but I am here looking in and enjoying your quilts and photos!

Great photos! I love snow! Especially just after a snowstorm, when it is white and clean.

I don't really want the kind of snow that you have for as long as you have it but I'd sure like that view for a few days.

Your photos are wonderful, especially the frosted window, & the seed heads.
How on earth do the little birds survive when the world is covered in snow- as is their feeder you have there!

I too love the landscape of new fallen snow. I dread the melting-slushy part of winter tho. Everything turns so dirty.

Snow is so wonderful to look at! The sedum heads with soap suds on are my favourite! However, I don't envy you having to travel in snow. Not fun.
