I measured the tallest block (6.5") and then added spacer strips to top and/or bottom or both to make all of the blocks the same height. Now I have to figure out the size of strips to go between the blocks to make them line up vertically. That may take awhile but it is the fun part for me.
In between figuring sizes and cutting strips I will be reading the new book my granddaughter gave me for Christmas.
I think I have only read one other James Patterson book and I think it was one not in his typical style. I like the fact that the chapters are only 2-3 pages long most of the time so you can pick it up and read a chapter or two when you only have a few minutes to read.I have 3 large blanket boxes full of floral fabrics from 1995 to present. I have a friend who wants to buy some 2.5" strips of an assortment. If I am going to get out all of those fabrics and press each one, and then cut, I want to cut more for sale on my other blog. If anyone is interested and has a size of cut that you would be interested in, please email me.

I like the square in the square quilt - I think i will use up some of my scraps this way but leave the sashing out - or maybe just put thin sashing in between. I like some James Patterson books, but only when he writes by himself - something about when he co-authors a book - too different and I usually end up not liking it.

This quilt is going to be stunning and a good start to the New Year. My plan is to work on a few blocks today, but, the quilt stores that are open are calling to me. I think I should stay with the plan, since it is quite windy out.

I was not sure about that choice in background when it was the top choice, but now I am seeing why it is the right choice. How great is that and you amaze me at how much you get finished in such a short period of time.

This is an exciting quilt... however I must warn you -- if this book is typical of Patterson's other books, it might be one of those "page-turners that keep me from quilting" reads! He has a few titles that kept me up late because I just had to find out what would happen next.
I thank you too for all the posts and inspiration of the past year, and for your encouraging words and way of making us feel that we "can do it too."

way to go...I'm 'tryin' to start something...I've been kind of 'ham scrammy' about things today though.....I AM getting my next quilt to be quilted loaded into my lil quilting frame....does that count?
Oooh -- that quilt is going to be so gorgeous when it's finished. I love that fabric you're using for the sashing. It's so perfect for those blocks.
Your Final finish for 2008 is so neat. I love the bright colors. Your "almost" new project for 2009 is wonderful as well. I really like the sashing fabric that was chosen. I would not have considered that fabric for a border if I was looking at it on the bolt, but it sure work well on that quilt. Two more wonderful quilts! How do you do it?
